Let me guess... you were flying under one of the 'new nations'?

That causes that EXACT effect, even people with the same mod with the same country selected cannot see you.

Solution; uninstall the new Nations mod, or merely do not select a new nation.

Side note; pending further review said mod is retired temporarally.
