DCG - after campaign selection choices? confused
#1

Using DCG, running multiplayer (coop).
After selecting a DCG campaign, a new menu appears giving more choices.
What do they represent? I can't find it in the documentation.
What is Campaign Mode/Immortal Warriors,
etc.

I personally don't use DCG online, I fly offline. However, there are several people who do. I hope they will pop in here and help out. If not PM Widowmaker. He can help you out.

You are using DCG in the Ngen, online Campaign Mode.

I personaly hate this mode, and could never get into it.

You can however do Manual DCG Online Campaign, which is what I do when flying online with a buddy of mine at home. (This is from Memory, Please Anyone Correct it if I missed something)

Arrow Set DCG to Online Coop (On The DCG Tool),
Arrow Start/Pick a Campaign (On The DCG Tool),
Arrow Hit Generate Missions (On The DCG Tool),
Arrow Now Open IL2, Go to Multiplayer & Start a Coop Server
Arrow Scroll down through the lists of Campaigns & Pick DCG
Arrow You should see One Mission Listed (As a Date),

:!: Ok here is the weird part I usualy have to go through.... :!:

Arrow Launch that Missions, and End it. As in Spawn on the runway, then Quit the Mission with out shutting down your server.

Arrow Minimize IL2, and Open the DCG tool, Now you can alter the campaign, skins, Airfield, all those neat things the DCG lets you do, and they will be saved.

Arrow Hit Generate Mission again, Re Open IL2, Refresh that Coop Mission List Page in IL2 (pick a random campaign then go back to the DCG missions),

Arrow you should see a Second Date, maybe the next day.

8) Now your Set, just fly your Missions with your Friends, after every mission you have to Minimize IL2 and Strike the Generate Mission Button on the DCG Tool to get your next mission on the list.

Can't find any coop DCG missions.
Set DCG to Online Coop
Started a Campaign
Had to use title bar menu to select Generate Mission.
Went to IL2/multiplayer/coop server
Picked DCG ... no missions.

How does DCG know where to put the mission?

As far as I understand it you have to make sure that DCG is set to replace Ngen and is set to fully automatic mode.

In hyperlobby start a Coop mission then make sure you select "campaign" from the drop down box once Il2 starts. Then when you get to the mission select screen make sure you start a DCG campaign and load it. You will get squadron options once you are in. you get the choice of "Random", "Yes" and "No" for each squadron and a campaign mode but it won't tell you what it is equiped with. Once you have set these hit the "new" button and a mission will generate. Then every one chooses an aircraft and flys as normal.

Next mission slide down to the bottom of the list and you will see your campaign with the missions completed. Choose it and hit "load", "new" mission and fly again.

I recomend doing a few tests first to work out how it all works. Later you can go into DCG and play with the various options.

Cheers

You can just run in manual online co-op mode
Make sure you tick "on line co-op" and "save copy of mission". That all you need ticked. The missions are filed then in IL2fb online/coop/dcg folder. At the end of the mission just re-open dcg and it will read the log file (so long at its sets to save it) and update the settings /losses etc. Then generate new mission close dcg load and play mission. rinse and repeat.

Tried that. It says it has genereated a mission but I can't find it in IL2.
In my IL2DCG folder there exists a mission folder (or campaign folder, whichever), but in my IL2 game's missions/net/coop/DCG folder there are no missions.

Hmmm

Just to check.

Only "on line co-op" and "save copy of mission" ticked on the MODE dropdown menu?

And the 'replace career' and 'replace coop' options are also checked.

Ahh!
Supposing you are happy to play an online coop...

uncheck those others. then create a new campaign - or try at that point just generating a new mission. YMMV but let me know how you go.
