Thats not the siren I'm talking about here. lol Thats the warning siren to pull up... or something...

I'm talking about the Stuka siren that should be on once airbrakse are out. The one that sounds demented.

And its gone.

If you still got the Eng_soundmod_v9X setup file then install it in a folder you created on desktop. Then open this folder search for the "files" --> "presets" --> "sounds" --> "motor.Jumo211". Copy the "motor.Jumo211" and open the folders in the same way in your installed IL-2 directory. Then paste in with rightclick and overwrite the old file. Now you should hear the original sound again. Good luck.

I have the same problem & it started when I downloaded New Stuka sounds mod some time ago.In that folder it has samples ( where 3 dive sounds are shown) & presets ( where the jumo is found) ....but you say to drop this and the 3 sounds into the Files/sounds folder???
Here's my problem- In Files folder I have both a Presets Folder with a Sounds folder and a Samples Folder that has a Sounds folder with in it!
Interestingly enough I have another Il-2 1946/Samples/sounds folder too separate from the rest which also contains a few av sounds of a mostly Naval nature...What do I do with these?

I downloaded a new Stuka siren sound too , well its not quite new , its the same but you can only hear it at great speed which i think its ridiculous because Stuka diving with air brakes cant pass over 340Km/h or so and He-111 and Ju-88 are also affected by this sound when diving fast.

I may have figured a solution - use only one of the included "dive" sounds at a time in your "Sounds folder" then decide which you like best,Worked for me!

Not all Ju-87 divebombers have sirens. Later war models did away with siren.
