It can definitely be done, mate....
In fact, I think it was fabianfred who showed us the way a long while ago for setting up your own customised vehicle columns, and even trains....

If i remember correctly, you just have to create the relevant entry in the chief ini........

It coulld be a good idea, but you have to be very careful about affecting othe rmods that use the chiefs file......i'm thinking, for instance, of Shippack 2......
It sounds like a plan, but it's going to be tricky implementing it, methinks......
How does one go about making sure everybody's on' the same page'.....
