The typical ordinance load out for an SBD at least early war USN is not listed as one of the choices. Is this something that can be addressed with a mod?
Typical early war ordinance load carried by VS & VB Squadrons aboard USN CV at least through the Battle of Midway.
VS (Scouting Squadrons - 18 SBD's) carried 1 x 500# bomb center line and 2 x 100# bombs under the wings in order to search at maximum range (10 degree sector 200 miles outbound leg, 50-100 miles cross leg, 200 miles return leg) with a pair of SBD's to double the chances of spotting the target. With a compliment of 18 VS SBD's 90 degree searches took place. After making a report the pair of SBD Scouts would attack the target.
VB (Bombing Squadrons - 18 SBD's) carried 1 x 1000# bomb center line and 2 x 100# bombs under the wings and would be ordered to launch when the target was spotted and the location confirmed and they would fly directly to the latest position of the target. Each flight would consist of three aircraft in a "V" formation.
Thanks
