Ah, yes "Yellow 10". Bought by Paul Allen and stored now in the Flying Heritage Collection. There's some talk of flying the Dora at their fly day's from May to October.

yes i was thinking the same thing...i read that they will not ever fly this airplane simply because besides it there is only one other original 190d in existence. i think that this one is the only dora with an actual working Jumo engine (which is why they bring it out every now and then to start it up to keep it that way). another good point and reason: arent the FlugWerks going to have a newly built Fw190D (along with 262, and 190A) to fly around? might as well keep the original out of of harms way. I believe the FlugWerks 190D will have an allison engine instead of the original Jumo, which is why i think this original is special. Even if it just comes out on the ramp and runs at idle for a little bit. :lol:
of course this video is based on when the airplane was in Arizona. I understand its now in Seattle, so I have no idea what the current plans are for it.
One of my favorite all time birds.
Seen and photographed it on several occasions. The last time at Champlin when it was being overhauled and sanded down.
I had spent an hour or so photographing their HE-111 cockpit and crew compartment and was leaving when I saw these two guys working on the Dora in a closed off area.They invited myself and a friend in and I saw her completely sanded down bare metal in prep for the paintjob shes wearing now .
I have sad memories of that day, as shortly after I returned home I read that the 111 had crashed on attempting to land a few weeks later killing both crew members on board.
The Flug Werks D9 is using an Allison Engine, so wont be the same, but still, less risk of metal fautige, engine probs, and the loss of the only working D9 outwieghs the nitpicking
