I-16 fight against time *Fan art*
#1

Losing oil pressure, fuel and hydraulics fast - the pilot makes the decision of ditching on a
open field near the airbase. After a routine patrol north of Leningrad, a lucky flak shell explode right beneath the engine. It is only moments before the fumes ignite and send the pilot to his death, and the handcranking is jammed shut. This day luck favours the pilot as the I-16s weight behind the pilot saves the fighter from flipping over, even with one wheel down. With a few bruises and a minor concussion the pilot make his way back to the road, where a light scouting tank comes by to help him.
