"Realistic" vs "Fantasy" debate
#46

I had the same experience. I came across a 109 derivative with twin jet engines and for a short moment was stunned by the history of it on the site. What the...? I've never heard any of this stuff before... Then the penny dropped. The problem with spoof descriptions is that sometimes they do fool you, rather like Orson Welles dramatisation of a martian invasion on the radio in 1938 that had people running for the hills.

my take on this debate.. short and sweet..

Historic and accurate aircraft that saw active duty..Yes, of course.

What ifs and prototypes.. No, waste of time.

Disagreed, experimental and 'what ifs' *based on an offiical documents and blueprints of practical design* is worth it. However, it is not what this debate is about, I will quote an author of this thread to state what this thread is all about:

Radoye Wrote:Those are fair points mate but that's not what this discussion should be about.

The question here is, should these be clearly marked as such, to make them immediately distinguishable from the historical planes?

So see, this thread is about labelling each aircraft historical and alternative historical aircraft, respectfully.

Yeeessss.. I'm well aware of the post parameters.. and I'm responding to his statement..

Quote:OK this stems from a debate in another topic.

The question was whether "fantasy" ("what-if", "alternate history") modded planes should be clearly marked as such or not - or even if they should be allowed on AAA at all.

Again.. it's just my personal opinion, but he clearly asks if they should even be allowed at all.. and for me it's a no..

I'm well aware that many 'do' enjoy the what if stuff, and that's great for them, but that scene doesn't float my boat.

Build what you want to build, no one has the right to tell anyone what they can and cant do.

I wouldnt mind figuring out the modeling and inserting process at some point and my first attempt would probably be a luft 46 aircraft because there will be a little less pressure on accuracy and getting it done and in game.
Also because where else do we get to fly those things
