Newbie Issues...
#1

Hi guys. Jumped on board a week ago. Trying to get up to speed slowly. Learning curve tough, but fun.

So far, the only upgrades I've messed with are installing 4.08 and DL BoB missions. They are great. Run very well.

My priority is to basically learn to fly the sim and basic setup.

I am using a Saitek Evo FF. I've been unable to get FF. I have read several threads, DL "fedit" and some files from "Trombkes" and still no luck. Can't even get the trigger feedback.

Everything is plugged in and switch is flipped in the game. Not really understanding fedit. The JoyControl tool is really nice.

Next would be where to start with mods. My goodness, there are an abundance . Where to start? Something simple would be nice.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you much...jc

The simplest way to start is to download and install the unified installer 1.1 and the UI 1.1.1 patch. That will give you a huge leg up. From there you can pick and choose the many new planes that have come out since the UI1.1 and patch were published.

here is a pointer, never install more than 2 mods at a time after that run IL-2 and make sure it works properly

Thanks for the help guys.

I appreciate it. Will try installing tonight.

I'll try another forum for the FF issue. It's probably something very simple that I'm not doing.

Again, Thanks a lot.
