these are instructions for manual 4.09 modding compatibility

Read carefully

INSTRUCTIONS ;

1. Install IL2 Game 1946 4.08m

2. Install / Download sound-mod or mod activator

3. DOWNLOAD (& resume) 409b1m.zip (The link is inoperative) (direct link) (remember keep resuming if it tries to stop or pause - IT WILL RESUME :wink

4. Once downloaded install & when asked to overwrite the following files say NO
DONT INSTALL - ' mg_snd_sse.dll '
DONT INSTALL - ' mg_snd.dll '

5. Download ranwers 'files.sfs' (The link is inoperative) (russian files.sfs) & Overwrite your own copy (resume compatible)

6. Run game

Heres where I stand.
I've done a complete re install of 4.08m
The only mods added at present are the Sound mod and Avalas Specularity.

I've downloaded 409.b1m plus Ranwers SFS Files.

When I downloaded these files the first time I downloaded 409.b1m (modded) into the game files it didn't ask me if I wanted to over write the two MG snd files for some reason.
I then added the SFS files, and although when I fired up the game it said I was now upgraded to 409.b1m I couldn't access the maps in FMB. When I tried the game locked up.
What might I have missed? Dont want to have to do this all again.

I will do that.I'm just not quite sure why I wasn't asked to overwrite. I would have said "No"

Also,do I just plop the accompaning SFS file into the game manually,then add the map names to the maps files all.ini
Guess I'll take a shot at it

Raven this post is totally pointless and does the cause of the anti mod crown absolutely no good whatsoever. This is just as childish and immature as the "us" "them" "they" "UbI zealots" biggots etc crap that comes from these boards and at this point should have absolutely NO PLACE in the dialog at all on either side of the issue.. If the sim itself was hacked to expect any patch at all to remain unhacked is not only foolish but naive as well. We need to get onthe solutions page folks.. becasue the problems have been beaten to frickin death.

I've installed IL-Sturmovic 1946 and then patch version 4.08m (it works good). When I installed mod activator game "crashes" at 60%. What should I do?
