So, yeah, I had a brand new computer gone for duelboot ( was the first time I ever tried it in fact ) and I had used the same Windows XP disk I had used in my previous computer ( now good for scrap yard ) but now, I still haven't activated the XP OS in my XP side of the current computer, and I get a little worried about what might happen if I do get it activated, I mean, will it be cancelled ?? or just properly be used just like the previous computer I had before ??

And what would be happening if I'd download the new Windows 7 in my new computer ( parts of the deal to have it free of charge as soon as it's released to the public ), would my software I have on my computer go bye bye ?? Or just stick around and do what it always did ??

What I mean by that turns out that I want to keep on playing IL-2 regardless of Windows getting changed as if nothing had happened, of course I lack serious information about it.

Can anyone answer my question about it ?? :?

All I know is that if you buy a retail version of Windows you can only use it on one computer. However you can buy additional licences to use it more computers.

I also know that you can only activate Windows Xp 3 times automatically and then you have to call Microsoft to get it activated

As for Windows 7 I have no idea but I know you can upgrade from Windows Vista to 7 and from XP to Windows 7. That's waht I heard and this needs confirmation of course.

In my experience, you can use the same copy of XP across multiple computers. Simply, I upgraded from my old tower to a new one and put my old copy of XP on it.
No probs. MS has a lot of rules but they are really meant for resellers and not private home individuals.

I've also activated my copy of XP about a dozen times doing formats and the like over the years, and never had to call MS about it.

The 'upgrade' from XP tp W7 is not a true 'upgrade'.

If you upgrade from Vista, Win 7 will save and use all of your system settings, etc.

If you upgrade from XP, the first thing the WIN 7 install will do is wipe out the XP install. You will lose all settings, data, ect. you may have on that partition.
