Stalingrad Mission 1 - Kalach Bridge
#1

Salud all:

This is a long mission designed for Zuti Reflyable Coop Mod, but which can be flown as a normal coop if you prefer. Save in your Dogfight folder for Zuti version and install the zuti mod version 2.3 which is included in the download (just drop the v.2.3 zuti mod folder into your mods folder). Save the mission in your Coop folder for the standard coop version. The planes are all UI 1.1 stock planes.

The ground battle is critical in this mission. Blue must take the bridge intact - to do this, blue tanks must cross the bridge and enter Kalach itself. The red tanks and objects defending the town must be destroyed. This will require ground attack aircraft, so you cannot just fly around dogfighting all day! If the blue tanks are unsuccessful, the mission is lost. Red planes will attack the panzers in force, so there is a lot to do - work as a team.

Defend your base! If red tanks enter your base they will take the base from you! It will change to a red base.

T-34s eat Pz IIIs for breakfast, so air support is crucial. Change aircraft as you need to in order to influence the outcome. (You can only do this in zuti mode). Keep an eye on the map, not your score!

This mission is designed to be flown by teams in strength - four is a good minimum number for blue to work with. You can fly with less, but you will be overwhelmed.

If you fly red - well, you know what to do.

This is the first in a series of five missions comprising the Stalingrad campaign; based on historical events. The others are under construction, and will be posted as they are completed. What's taking the most time is the painstaking and mind numbingly boring task of destroying the city of Stalingrad object by object in FMB - If anyone knows of a better way to do this, please let me know! I've even tried nukes! :???:

Credits to Zuti for the most important mod ever.
Hellzone for the original MD idea and mod.
All the testers: Smeg; Karaya; Sora; Skyhawk from JG52; AJD; Wimbly; Iain; Monty and the crew for peerless advice and information; the JG52 Squadron...

and everyone who loves this game!

Enjoy!

There is a "destroy" function that works very well in FMB. The user manual describes it in detail.

Thaks for sharing your mission, sounds fun Big Grin

yes, that's correct. Please don't waste your time destroying one object at a time.
In FMB select destroy objects (I think) and then use "F" key with mouse (if i remember right) and run the mouse pointer over all areas needing to be destroyed. You can also use different percentages of destruction using the slider.

Hey, KGP!

I finally installed Zuti's mod in my ded server and I'm having a blast with your missions!

I still have to try El Alamein 8) , and I read here your doing a 3rd Stalingrad mission.

When it's finished would you consider doing some Malta scenario for Zuti's?

Best regards and Zuti, dude: you rule!

Thanks for the feed back - I'm glad you're enjoying them. I have a couple of old Malta coop that I will Zuti-ise and post up in a few days - that does not take long to do. The third Stalingrad mission is just about finished - just a few little things to fix and I will post that very soon. I really want to do the whole series - I have five planned all together; each one running for up to three hours so that's a lot of flying time!

OK happy flying - watch out for more posts soon.

See ya
