Hi Guys
What a great site .....1

As I say I am anewbie and wondered if anyone could help
I downloaded a campaign "Battle of Britain" Hurricane season and installed as to instructions.
Loaded up 1st mission.......... and have amap of part USSR !!
I posted a topic about it on M4T and was told it was probably correct...and to use my imagination completeing
the missions...!!! All very interesting. The aadvice given was that there was no mod map when this campaign was
made.

Any help/advice greatly recieved.
Tks

Do you have the sound mod, or unified installer?

If not, get the unified installer, it covers all your basics; (The link is inoperative)

then patch it: (The link is inoperative)

and then, try re-installing that campaign (if it isn't working correctly) and also have a look at some of the other available mods to see what's available. Not everything is included in the UI, but the majority of stuff is. If you need any help, please feel free to ask.

Moggy, you went a step or 2 ahead of mister bumbleweed, i think, mate.
It sounds more to me like he's d/l'd a BOB campaign that was done using a default map, from before the mods. In which case, no amount of mods will change that. The missions will still play on the original map they were meant for.
bumbleweed, there were no maps depicting the channel/UK originally, and guys used other maps to represent this.
Of course, with all the great modded maps and campaigns available nowadays, its highly recommended to go the mod route. Which takes us to Moggy's previous post.

Thanks Moggy !
I have the Ui Installer and will now add the patch.
It appears that the campaign in question The Author used the Kuban map for this.
however thanks for your advice and I,ll now look to install /explore some more.
Cheers

Ooooh i think Mr Malone might be right. Big Grin But still, UI is a great way to go in my own oppinion. Just make sure you patched IL21946 to version 4.08m first. I should have said that in my earlier post

Annoying the annoying, so you don't have to.

Here a fix for the Cyrillic
English Career Language fix

(The link is inoperative)

Missions come with readme's usually and one must pay careful attention to following the folder structure when installing.

Your Main IL2 folder has a folder called Missions/inside there are three folders. One is Single, then Net and also Campaigns.
Inside the Campaign folder you will find folders abbreviated with the Countries name, such as DE for Germany,GB for Great Britain,JA for Japan ete
Inside the Country folders there is usually folders named after planes, this is where some missions will go for that specific plane, some missions stay in there own folder and will reside in the Country folder on there own.

The Single folder is set up the same way as ther Campaign folders

NET folder has Coop,Dogfight and a cache folder for playing in Multiplayer.
Coops and Dogfights are usually installed into one of these folders and are mostly in there own folder, just drop the coop or dogfight in.
You could make your own folders in there such as "BOB" for all your Battle of Britain missions to go into or what ever

Easy
