Does 4.09 correct the crappy smoke that came with default IL2, because if not, Il be fine with my 4.08.

4.09 mods? 4.09 servers? I think Im about to cry....
I don't see what is wrong with keeping up in online play just because of a small smoke issue that may or may not be fixable with mods? I got 4.09 and I also recommend its worth getting!

The main reason why I spent 4 hours downloading it and downloading the 4.09m mods compatibilty patch from SAS was because of the SM.79. And there's quite a lot of new objects that would be useful to a modder.

Maybe your conf.ini settings: Water=3 or 4.
And select weathertype Blind, Rain/Snow or Thunder. Works in V4.08 also.
