Hello, although this has probably been asked millions of times, I am yet to find a clear answer as to why this is happening,

I have the 4.09m version of il2 running on both PC's, they are right next to each other and connected through my router to the internet using seperate ethernet cables going from each PC into the router, I create a server on one PC and try to join on the other but it always times out,

I have port forwarded IL2's 2100 ports and allowed these ports in both firewalls, what could be the possible problem?

there may be also a firewall in the router so look thereand open the ports, its the only possibility that i can think of.


and the player who joins doesnt need open ports afaik.

The correct (default) port is 21000, not 2100. When you join a server over a LAN, you must use the private IP address of the host, not the public, e.g.: 192.168.x.x

Also, it may be necessary to configure the IL-2 Network settings on the player machine to port 21001, just to make sure there is no conflict.

Thanks for the help, however I think I have sourced the problem, the ports are all correct however the ports are still not open so I will contact someone who knows about networks to see what the problem could be
