I'm not sure why, but I no longer hear any engine sounds when I look in the cockpit straight ahead or 45 degrees to the left or right. Am I missing sound files? I haven't touched them. The problem exists for these aircraft:
YP-80
F-84G's
F-86A-5
MiG-15(bis)
I do, however, hear them for the rest of the aircraft in game.

same here, in all moded versions when I look to the left the sound dissapears, why is this??
If I recall correctly, this issue can be solved by running dxdiag, go to the sound tab and set sound acceleration to "standard"
Tried that, but unfortunately it didn't work. I'm running Windows 7 64
also running under setup.exe, sound tab....default....for 3d engine?
No luck, tried it. Could there be something in the STD folder that might cause this? I recently added the HMS Eskimo.

I had a good working IL2 4.09b1m (i believe it was) and it was working okay with Win7 64bit.
After installing 4.09m (official release) i have the same problem when i look to the right, and the problem is at least with Hurricanes, spitfires, F4F's, Fokker Dxxi, F6F's and another few.
Looking to the left,up and straight ahead is no problem with the sound.
Looks as if 4.09m installed something strange, but i have not figured it out yet.

i have been looking into my backups and found out that before i installed Win7 everything worked.
After installing win7 64bits and copying the old files back to the C drive, i have this sound problem.
It is NOT a 4.09m problem, because i had it 1 day before installing 4.09m, but after installing Win7.
I will try some more things to find the problem.
