Okay, The only server I can use on hyperlobby is Wildcats versus Zekes. Can't figure it. I've tried all of the things everyone says to do, disabling certain mods....etc,. but nothing works.
But, that's not what's really strange. I have two installs. One is AAA 1.2, the other is 4.09. I rename the modded folder to something else, and then rename the 4.09 folder to IL-2 Sturmovik 1946. Jump in to hyper lobby, and it starts the modded version up. The 1.2 screen pops up and starts to run, then I get the CRT=2 timeout error. Am I explaining this clearly eneough?
My question is, how is hyperlobby finding 1.2 if I've remaned the folder? Shouldn't it see 4.09? Should I be naming the 4.09 folder something else? Confused!

You forgot to redirect your HL to the unmodded folder. It sounds like even though you renamed the folders, HL is still using the .EXE in the renamed folder. try redirecting HL and see what happens.

GRANT is correct. The name of the folder has nothing to do with it. HL looks for the .exe file. You need to re-direct HL to the .exe you wish to use.

Just before click enter into HL hold down the Ctrl and Shift key at the same time then click enter to HL
This will force HL to do a search for the IL2.exe all over again like when installing HL

Wait until it finishes searching and then highlight and click on the correct IL2.exe for the version you want it to play.

I was just coming in here to ask how you redirect the exe, and you answered the question. ESP?

an other optinon is aslso to rename the il2fb.exe in the modded version to for example "il2fbNOT IN USE.exe" The hyperlobby will automatically look for another one called il2fb.exe... and then you choose the 4.09 il2fb.exe for it.
Next time when you want to play the game with U.I 1.2 you just rename the "4.09" il2.exe to "il2NOT IN USE.exe" and rename the other one in you you game version with U.I 1.2 back to "Il2fb.exe"

Simply put, just rename the il2fb.exe that you are NOT using to something else...
