Win 7 question
#1

Hi,

I've just installed Win7 32 bit and everything is working for Il2, game runs etc. Only problem I seem to have is my wide screen mod has stopped working. I've adjusted my confini back as it should be but I still have the black bars down the sides of my monitor and not wide screen. I was having no issues in this respect when I was running vista at all , I had the wide screen mod as well as the wide screen mod that fixes your startup screens and they were working fine.
I notice that now my mods folder is all in alphabetical order, maybe this has something to do with it ? I have tried to drag and drop a few files to rearrange the order in which my mods load, but I'm having a few problems there as well. I don't seem to be able to move things around within my mods folder like I did with vista, I know its probably only a setting but maybe someone could give me a headsup on this as I'm getting a little frustrated looking through the countless FAQ's and going around and around in circles.

Thanks in advance for help on this and I'll keep trying in the mean time.

Cheers.

Have you tried renaming the mod folder so it has "00" at the front.

I.e. was; Wide_screen_mod, now; 00_Wide_screen_mod

Thanks i'll try that, I'm pretty sure its a loading order issue.
Has anyone solved this auto arrange problem yet ?

I'm not quite shore what you mean by auto arrange problem, if you mean how windows arranges you files it shouldn't matter to IL2.

Right click in your "MODS" or other folder you want to sort out and your see the following: View, Sort by & Group by. Sort by is the mane one to arrange how you see your files but the others all so help, your just have to play till you get it how you like.

As for IL2 loading order thats down to the modded wrapper.dll reading the files in your "MODS" folder apathetically. It reads the folder names in your "MODS" folder is from 0 - 9 & then A - Z, the only other thing that effect how it reads the folders is if you put a "-" in front of a folder name i.e. "-00_Wide_screen_mod". Doing this will tell the wrapper.dll to ignore the files in that folder.

So you see by renaming the wide screen mod with 00 in front the wrapper.dll with read it first.

i.e.

00_Wide_screen_mod
AR-196A3
B17G
Blade-Fix-on-Bombers
MiG15 (bis)
STD
ect...

Hope that helps and hope you under stand that as I'm tired, time for bed I think 8)

Ceege1 you could always try this.
Go into your config file and amend the following (make a back up first).
[window]
width=1920
height=1080
ColourBits=32
DepthBits=24
StencilBits=8
ChangeScreenRes=1
FullScreen=1
DrawIfNotFocused=0
EnableResize=0
EnableClose=1
SaveAspect=0
Use3Renders=0

The width and height is for my screen just add your requirments.

Thanks,

I'm getting a little desperate now as I can't get rid of the side bars at all.

I've tried the confini as mentioned above ,also by putting both wide screen mods at the top of my mods folder by putting 00 in front of each of them.
Its making no sence at all to me as I had no issues with this at all when I was running Vista. Everything happened as soon as I switched to Windows 7, I have added nothing or changed anything to cause this problem ???

Help... I am lost as to why this is happening.
