Hi everyone,

Still busy comming back into the game i decided to abandon the UI1.2 install and go for the HSFX install. Ok now i downloaded it through a Torrent but i downloaded the following files and i dunno what to do with some of them i'm beginning to suspect i miss a programm or something as this is a new PC. Ok here they come as i see them...

HSFX_Vesion_4_1 exe file with size 775 MB content

second file is a yellow map file named HSFX4 content of this map is 2,92 GB, inside this map is.....

HSFX-Version_4 exe file with size 488 MB so this an exe.file
HSFX_version_4.W02 is a white coloredmap file with size 488 MB, so this a W02 file
HSFX_version_4.W03 is a white coloredmap file with size 488 MB, so this a W03 file
HSFX_version_4.W04 is a white coloredmap file with size 314 MB, so this a W04 file

Part2_Ver_4 exe file with size 488 MB
HSFX_version_4.W02 is a white coloredmap file with size 488 MB, so this a W02 file
HSFX_version_4.W03 is a white coloredmap file with size 241 MB, so this a W03 file

I use Windows 7 64-bit.

Ok here is the big Question... what are those W0 files with different numbers and what do i do with them my PC can't open them and google gave me no answers i would very much like to know how to install this all.

I only had a file called HSFX_Verison_ 4.1
I checked the size is correct 775 MB
You click it that makes the install.
If some one out there knows more PLEASE jump in here.
Disk install 4.07-----patch 4.8m-----patch 4.09m-----HSFX-V4.0-------HSFX-V4.1.

You need to have a clean IL2 patched to 4.09m, then you have to download and install HSFX 4.0, followed by HSFX 4.1.

Follow instructions here:

If you need to keep any Mods you already have, back up the mods folder as it's over written.

Just put all of these files in a single folder and run the "HSFX-Version_4 exe" file. Then run the "HSFX_Vesion_4_1 exe file". It's also recommended to do a clean install of the game patched to 4.09. "Read the readme" It explains must everything you need and it may save you headaches.

Answer:

I have this file already downloaded and it's correct. I have questions about the second file i downloaded amely the 4.0 version which i need to install before the 4.1 version.

Answer: i read all 9 pages of that link again thinking i missed something there before but no one mention my problem, so how can it help me?

Answer: This answer i don't understand tbh which files do you mean in one folder?? option A like this..

just make a folder myself and put this inside?? and how do i name that folder then and where do i put it?

Sorry everyone that i have troubles understanding this all because it's all new again now. I just learned the old way.

But Bottom line is my question that no one answered what are W0 files and how do i open them or put them in the in the installation, or even even change them to something else like RAR files if that is possible. Or do i need to install something extra on my new PC?

P.S. i also saw on that link of 9 pages that 2 guys offered to burn a CD with the install.. now if someone would like to do that for me then it would solve a lot of problems at once too. Of course i will be paying for it all.

Don't worry about the WO# files. You have a total of eight files...just make a new folder... make it anywhere...call it anything...it doesn't matter...
and put all eight files into it.

Then open that new folder, if it isn't already, and run (double-click) the file called HSFX_Version_4.exe and direct the installation to the game folder you want to upgrade to HSFX. All the other .WO# named files will look after themselves and install automatically. Once that has run its course, you will have installed HSFX v4.0

Then run (double-click) the file named HSFX_Version_4_1.exe and direct it to the same game folder as you did for 4.0 above.

I was counting the 4.1 file as well in my total. I see I was confused by your terminology of "map" meaning "folder". Now that I read it again, you already have the seven 4.0 files in one "map" (folder), and the single 4.1 file in another "map" (folder). Sorry, I should have read your post more carefully.

Revise what I wrote before...it's only important to have the seven 4.0 files in one folder.
The single 4.1 file can be in a separate folder, or you can put it in the same folder with the other seven 4.0 files.
It really does not matter.

If you already have the seven 4.0 files in one folder, then just run it as I described previously...you only need to run the first .exe and the rest will happen automatically.

After that is finished, run the single 4.1 file as I described previously.

Now i know what to do just one question to be 100% sure.. the second exe file of the 4.0 goes in that folder also so i not have to run it manualy it goes automatic aswell just as the W0 files?

Wow i must say i never ever would have found this out by myself lol since the whole thing has no readme lol.

That's correct...the second .exe will run automatically as long as it is in the same folder as the other six files.

I don't know where you found your download, but at the 242 squadron site where I downloaded the files, there is a very detailed set of instructions.

Thonk i DL it here not sure anymore because i Downloaded it all about 6 times and everytime i got there W0 files so i started again.

as you see there is no mention about W0 files
