Unsolvable problem ! !!! by propilot45 ( tech help section )

This person post an "I CANNOT RUN THE GAME" question, freezes at 95%.
Then the subject diverts to a would be choice of PACK, and this is locked answered. (?)

Did he successfully patch his game at all ??? Does he load from DVD ?? Can he run his game presently ???
He wanted to patch directly to 4,09m which is not possible. hock:

I also thought that locking of the thread was inappropriate, premature and rather abrupt.

Propilot45 had a problem and wanted help to solve it.
The best way to promote HSFX is to direct potential users towards its benefits, which are considerable.
I don't think that banning any reference to UP is any help at all.
What exactly is there to be afraid of in permitting such references?

What to patch to so he could be up to date so I redirected him
To the HFSX / UI forum where he can get all that help in one spot.

Ashe, regarding UP we get quite a lot of topics on here regarding installing it, finding d/l links for it etc.
Now this is not the problem, but we don't support this pack at AAA (we support HSFX) and so we aren't the best people to sort these problems out; the UP guys are. Now that's where the people with issues would be best placed to post their questions: at the UP site. I mean, if you had PC troubles, you wouldn't post about them on a mac forum would you?
Regarding UP topics, at the moment we don't have a working relationship with the UP site. It was only a month or two ago that Hades made a topic at SAS regarding us removing UP topics (which generally was directed against AAA) which not only broke the rules at SAS, but also made him out to be a hypocrite later when he did the same thing to people at UP, but this time he didn't inform users why their posts were removed, whereas we did, and we linked the authors to the UP site I can see why he was annoyed we removed links to the UP site, but he doesn't seem to want to talk with anyone from this site, so it made admins feel upset; why should they have posts advertising the UP product on the forum when the UP guys weren't prepared to give-way in some areas in order to have a unified pack?

Anyway, it's all silly playground stuff IMO, but there it is; even adults can act like children
I wish everyone was able to put the past behind them; I think we are at AAA, which is why we don't have our own branded pack at the moment, so I only hope this time next year i can look back on this and be able to smile and say we were all able to put past differences behind us and bury the hatchet.
