Hi folks,

by popular request I want to ask, if it is possible to create a mod for the FW190 gunsight without this beam, so that it would be fit for online gaming or is there maybe a kind of such mod in development ?

What he means is on the FW-190, there is a bar on the bottom of the gunsight. The bar actually blocks your view up to the bottom of the yellow cirlce. He was wondering if it is possible to either make the cockpit sit higher or take away the bar from the pitt.

Yes, the cockpit is very correctly modelled, but they didnt model refraction. And that makes the difference. The armoured windshield was so thick that through refraction, you didnt see much of a bar, because you were basically looking at some thick glass at an angle, so the view was different from what we got, although the cockpit is historically modelled.

And I dont really think that someone can remodel the cockpit (i.e. cut out the bar), and you would see the non-existant engine-cover. It is easier to shoot with the 6DOF mod, but for the most time the missing parts just look ugly (in that you cant see them but see whats behind them or nothing at all).

Rather than alter the cockpit..(which is correct), why not wait for the 6dof mod to come in. Then you will do what real pilots had to do, raise or lower the seat..

unfortunately that cockpit bar would be impossible for us at the moment, at least i think so, if this bar was removed, then you would have the problem of the cowl gun mounts in the way and perhaps a wierd looking cowl, i.e. the plane would not look right you would see straight through cowl,

Altering a cockpit for better visibility that was put in by Oleg and he proved his point over and over why it is still there is pushing the cheating envelop. Sound mods are cool as long as they do not give an advantage which the one Wasy created does not. Allowing AI planes to be flyable is fine but altering things that would give you an advantage is cheating no matter how you slice it. This is why modding the game is so frowned upon by members of the community. People just can not be happy with the harmless things that add to the immersion of the game. They always have to tweak it a little here and there and next thing you know we got some bonehead flying around in a Spit VB with a 25ft boost engine in it.

Havok, im not clear on what you are saying. is it that Oleg proved that the 190 as seen in game w/'bar' is accurate, and that you would see the same thing in a real 190?

if not, please elaborate

if so....its pretty clear from photos, videos, the notorious "refraction" item, and the Ta 152 C/H modelling that the bar is incorrect...in fact, i recall that while Oleg would not concede the error, the incredibly stupid way ppl went about tryign to have it corrected essentially made him ignore the issue for future patches out of spite





as ive said in another thread here, such things as correcting the jugs loadouts is goodness....givcing it anythign other than what it flew with, or giving it more than it can, is ridiculous, ahistorical..there is absolutely no reason for this

there will be no entertaining that sort of nonsense here, other than ridiculing it in forum

id say i hope that no one else will ever do it, but i know id be sadly mistaken....only consolation is that it may take a good long time before we see loadout changes....at least in 408....if u fly a 405 server (if u can find one), different story.... hock:
