Is someone out there how can create a fantastic IJN Torpedo Bomber Campaign with B5N2 and B6N2?!? These planes are so cool!

Do you play with the stock DGen or with Lowengrin's DCG? It is easier with DCG, if you download it I can show you how. I don't know how to do DGen though ...

Nope, it is actually pretty easy. You will be able to fly the kate yourself in an offline campaign, or an online coop for that matter. You can lead your flight of Kates off Japanese carriers to sink the Lexington if you wish. I could set you up on how to do it. It is not too difficult.

If you are interested download the DCG program from here http://www.lowengrin.com/download.php?view.120. Simply unzip the rar pack to a folder on your desktop. Cut and paste this folder into your IL2 game folder. Go into the DCG folder and start the program once. It will ask you for your DCG program location and your IL2 game location (.exe) Once you have that done let me know and I can set you up Big Grin

Nah, your fine. Actually you can implament ALL of the new flyables into your offlineDCG campaigns. It is not really hard to do either. So if you cannot do it in DGen, DCG might be worth looking into. So not only the Kate, but any plane that is AI that is now flyable can be used.

Maybe I will start a thread and sticky it helping people set up DCG and make new flyables work with campaigns? Do you think this is a good idea?

"Do you think this is a good idea?"

Welcome Fusek. I am assuming you are using DCG already and know a few of the basics :?:

Anyway, Go to your IL2 folder, your DCG folder and open DCG. Go to the "Aircraft class Settings Panel." It is the 2nd icon from the left on the top menu bar. It shows a black plane on a grey background. Once here, on the upper left find the aircraft list drop box. Open it and find the plane you want. After selecting the plane to edit, go to the upper middle collumn and change the box that says, "Flyable by players" from no to yes. You will need to do this for each and every AI flyable that has been given.

Now for step two. Go to your DGen folder in your game folder. Scroll down until you find a list of files that say, "CampaignDeF" or something. "CampaignXxX" Open these files to find what you want to edit. The campaign file should look like this:

* German Fighter Pilot in Western Europe (DCG)
Dynamic campaign for German fighter pilot over the Western Front using Full Auto-Generation Mode.
Poland39 Poland 1939
France40 France 1940
Britain40 Battle of Britain (Fictional Map)
Normandy41 Normandy 1941
Murmansk41 Murmansk 1941
Mediterranean41 Crete 1941 (Fictional Map)
Tobruk41 Tobruk 1941 (Fictional Map)
Normandy42 Normandy 1942
Tobruk43 Libya 1943 (Fictional Map)
MarethLine43 Mareth Line 1943
Italy43 Italy 1943
Germany44 Germany 1944
Hungary44 Hungary 1944
Normandy44 Normandy 1944
Norway44 Norway 1944
Ardennes44 Ardennes 1944
WestGermany45 West Germany 1945
Berlin Berlin 1945

Basically, this will tell you what campaign you are looking at. So if you were looking to add the Me110C to the France campaign, you would need to open the German fighter campaign. Once you have found the appropriate campaign file, open up the corresponding "PlanesXxX" file. So if the file is "CampaignDeF", open "PlanesDeF". In the planesDeF file you will see a list of maps in brackets and under them a list of planes. Simply add your plane to the list. See example below:

from

[France]
BF_109E4B

to

[France]
BF_109E4B
BF_110C4B

Now when you go into the game and start a new German fighter campaign, under the France map the Bf 110 is now flyable AND will work.

Hope this helps. If I lost you, let me know, if you have questions, let me know.

Cheers! Big Grin [/b][/i]

You can also add planes half way through (or whenever ) using "Timetable.dcg"

Hey Scharnhorst1943,

I tried implementing the B5N2 along the D3A1 already in DGen. (Via planeINJ)
When I select the plane it beeps.... Confusedhock:

I dont like the hassle of the otherwise good DCG, lazy as I am I would like to stay with DGen.

Any chance to do that succesfully?

Thanks, zoltann

Sorry zoltan, The only one I know how to do is DCG. And honestly, it may not even be possible with DGen. I just don't know. Maybe someone else who uses DGen could chime in? I gave up DGen quite a while ago. DCG has been my thing. I could probably make it less of a hastle if you want to set it up, but I can understand if you want to stick with DGen. To each his own.

Zoltann,

I am pretty knowledgeable to DCG. I know how to build my own campaigns. I am just a college student, so time is not a luxery for me. I plan on eventually releasing my campaigns, if I can ever get them done. I can walk you through how to detai edit campaigns or make your own from scratch. So any question you have I can probably answer. With my help it should not be an issue Big Grin
