Your map is fabulous !!!!
But my FPS decrease because there is plenty of tree everywhere like forest=2 although my forest=1 ...
It is normal ? Have you add these trees ? If yes, it is possible to create a map without these trees everywhere ... or tell me how to take off ?

Thanks for giantic work on this map ... Relief is marvellous !

those trees are auto generated

did you a comparsion fps test, before/after?

You know there's something hidding here I think! Something tells the game to place those many trees, but what? I've noticed it too, there's a lot of trees in the empty fields of Istvan's Balaton, but I think on the original map, some of those empty fields were CROP fields, and those always have a lot of trees.
So trees remained there even after replacing fields2 for example with bottommount. What's giving that???? Because if we know we might use it!
Hm, and maybe something similar, have you noticed that not all the crop fields are coming with trees? And something even weirder. If you have fields2.tga. and you have something like
lowland1=fields2.tga then there'll be a lot of trees placed there. But if you put
lowland1=fields2.tga, 2 the trees disappear!!

Ok, I compare original Balaton and your Balaton : there is more trees on the second map ...
The trees are autogenerated but I don't kown how.
I will try Lowfighter solution.

Juste another question, why you write in your vp_load.ini texture A // Texture B ?
What is the effect to write twice textures separate by // ?

Ok, I will look into the issue but I didnt noticed any framerate drop although I only got a P4 2,8 with 2Gb ram and an AGP 7600GS 256Mb card, running in 1024*768 resolution with 2*AA, no AF, perfect mode.

When you writeing a code you allways use comments to inform others who will later have to continue your work, in this case I've used them to keep the old texture names in the code, its easier to revert if I dont like the texture I've placed there.

It works like this, both style is working in the games txt files if my observations are correct:

Quote:;this line is a comment
//this line is a comment

"//" means "comment", it will be ignored by the game. This way you can swap between textures by just commenting and uncommenting
lowland0=text1 //tex2 game loads tex1
lowland 0=tex2 //tex1 game loads tex2

thanks Lowfighter, look:

original Balaton load.ini

Quote:[FIELDS]
LowLand0 = land/summer/LowLand_1.tga,2
LowLand1 = land/summer/LowLand_2.tga
LowLand2 = land/summer/FIELDS1.tga
LowLand3 = land/summer/FIELDS2.tga

my version:

Quote:[FIELDS]
LowLand0 = land/summer/LowLand_1.tga,2
LowLand1 = land/summer/fields_midland_ian.tga
LowLand2 = land/Pacific/Okinawa.tga
LowLand3 = land/summer/autumnFIELDS1.tga

The ",2" is there in both versions at "lowland0", so I dont know what to correct or what I've changed wrongly which should be reverted.
