Seeing the latest development with the late Spit models being fitted with the Feranti gunsight, I was wondering if a modification could be made to some of the late war german machines so that their 'decorative' gyro sight could be made functional.

I haven't found any pictures of this sight turned on, but maybe with some research this can happen.

Here are some photos of the german gyro sights for your pleasure. Note the wingspan indications of allied aircraft, similar to the practise used on it's allied counterpart.

Any idea if they were used in the Me-262A-1aU4? Seems like an ideal candidate for a gyro sight Idea

just like the 190a8/R2 :winkSadit seems they were the first to test it in combat with the I/jg300) or all the 46' planes (don't they already have that one?)

Yes 190A8, anything that used energy fighting technique would benefit from installation of gyro sight.

From what I've tried of gyro sight in P-51 & P-80 & now late Spit, I'd say it's of little use in a turning fight, but good for boom & zoom tactics.

That's why I ask about Me-262A-1aU4 (not a '46 aircraft) as it has a low rate of fire and low ammo count. I have a pretty good hit - miss ratio with this a/c and would be interested to see if a gyro would improve it. I think it would...
