You know, I marvel at the effort that people put in using their own time and energy to give us all a more realistic and improved game.. But it is really gripping my sh*t that every time someone provides us with these gems, ther are always people coming out of the woodwork whinging about 'you have a cheat' or 'that will give you more of an advantage..' Can we just accept the great work these modders do, and stop crying about what amounts to f^ck-all to worry about..
And before you ask, yes, I spend a large amount of time flying online.. We have a large organisation, fly in most of the current wars, we've been doing it for years, and have yet to see any kind of cheating.. why, because we fly with people we know and trust..

I totally agree with you Trooper.

Thanks for all the effort! Any chance making a 190d-12 or 13? How about fixing the FW forward cockpit view, removing the bar or making it look like it was supposed to?

Scout around the threads.. You will find a whole wealth of info about the 190 cockpit..

Brophmeister Wrote:It gives you minimal improvement over the rear view. You can see upwards behind you, but you can't see straight behind you as you can in, for example, the FW190. I really don't understand why you must insist on arguing over a small improvement and let all the things like mirrors and gunsights go.

I didn't mention the gunsites or mirrors because this is not that thread in case you didn't notice. To put your mind at ease, I DID talk about the very same thing in the mirror thread. While I do appreciate and like the work of it all, I don't like the fact that things like that can be used where they shoudln't be, giving one an unfair advantage. I didn't mention it in the gunsite thread because it seems that no one really gives a crap and they just want want want, gimme gimme gimme. I'm losing hope in this place.

So its ok to go into either of the warbirds of prey servers or warclouds and use the gunsites and mirrors? All you have to do is enter any of those servers and tell them what you've got and see how long it takes them to ban you. Like I said before, I like the work being done here, I just don't like the fact that it can be used anywhere, even where it is unwelcome. When you start using these things where everyone is expecting you to be on a level playing field, thats when you cross that line and thats what myself and quite a few others have a problem with. One thing I have more of a problem with are people like you that don't care about anyone but yourself. Great attitude, no wonder the onliners are so up in arms.

I'm just a realist.. I totaly understand what has happened to IL2, and it's no use banging your head against the wall because things have changed.. It's simply time to understand that. The dam wall is breached, but just sticking your finger in the wall and hoping it will all hold together will change nothing.. Do you honestly think that even if this site does exactly what you hope for, nothing will change??
Once I had grasped that things have now changed forever I actualy started to feel better about the whole situation, instead of kidding myself that the good guys on this site will keep everything in order and the IL2 world will be as one again.. Come on mate, this site, although full of fantastic people, is only one of god knows how many around the globe..

And by the way.. I am an avid onliner, belong to a large squad and take part in many wars etc..

hello

um so not computer literate - how do I install this?

Yes, a good question - how do we install this G4/G10 mod please?

My d/l may be corrupted. It has folders in it, but no files.
When I try extracting the files with winzip, it says "Files skipped, unknown compression method". What did you use to compress the files?

The same way you install all other mods without an installer.
The files directory in each subdirectory of the .zip goes into the IL-2 main folder, where there should be already a files folder. When it asks you to overwrite, click yes to all.
The lines from files to filelist.txt go into the filelist, obviously. It should also be in the IL-2 main folder. Just add them at the bottom.
Do that with every part (subdirectory) of this mod that you wish to install.
If that wasn't clear enough, I'll make a guide with pictures for you guys. But in principle its easy a hell.

Ah, I figured it out. I renamed it to .rar instead of .zip and it extracts fine.

OK, I installed it as per the instructions. No luck. The only difference I can see is a different tailwheel. Cockpit is the same, wings are the same, cowl is the same, even the name is still "Bf-109 G2".

Installed it a second time. Still no luck.
