ive moved the poll regarding FM DM editing

im really sorry to say but my opinion on FM/DM tweaking is something im not prepared to be swayed on - i do not want FM tweaks for 4.08 on this site for now at least - the big main reason being that it would screw up online play way too much. We need a standard that is the same for all, if we start changing FM then there would be no set standard anymore & everybody would have a different FM from each other

its not that i like the FM for this sim , far from it

ive also explained in detail before (i just wish i could remember where?) why i dont think we should
maybe in future but not now.
if we manage somehow to get new 3d or new aircraft into the game then ok we will need new fm for that.

also i fully support changing FM for 4.05 as this is not played by everone online - no problems there

While i had very limited support for option #2, i entirely understand your position, and fully support you on it - i'd rather we as the 'pro-modders' err on the side of caution, and reason, for online play for the time being.

It's your house, and ultimately, your choice.

im sorry you feel that way LAL_RONE & username but we must try to keep the online experience good - please do go elsewhere if you feel you are not getting enough here - if you start another site for FM tweaking then ok but you will ruin the online experience for people

the result was Not embarassing!! i feel that many only think that fm is wrong and not of the online aspect that is why i think it was unbalanced - please think carefully about FM tweaking before saying 'yes lets go ahead and change it' think about the consequences!

Well - you can go and catch what you want elsewhere too. But - before you decide to go this way, remember that this would give the IL2 inquisition the needful reasons to suspect everyone who uses mods as a cheater. FM/DM tweaks are THE things we don

its been a real hard descision & i knew some would not like me for it - but i had to make the right descision which is best as a whole for the online players as these would be the ones who would suffer

i will say it again just to clarify..
I dont support tweaking FM's for 4.08m mainly due to the online aspect.
I support FM tweaking for 4.04 / 4.05 because this is no longer affected by online play.

changing Fm for an online used version (4.08m) will cause people to have different Fm's from one another online - this needs no more explaining

Re FMs and DMs - I agree, we don't need changes to Oleg's originals, but we will certainly need tailor made ones for new aircraft eventually. Either that, or the game becomes an arcade mess with unhistoric FMs and DMs stuck onto new models.

It's the weapons thing where I have to agree with UF Josse and LAL Rone. Realism is being sacrificed here for the sake of a quiet life - how can anyone support retaining blatantly wrong loadouts and muzzle velocities etc? It's absolute nonsense - but not a problem, if you know where to look. :wink:

Although I respect your decision, after all, you are the man.. I think any credibility in having any kind of poll in future is just pointless...
I can of course live with the outcome, (not going to run off and slash my wrists or anything hock: ).. But I'm pretty old fashioned in some respects, and to me, a mans word is his bond... If the poll wasn't going to be honoured.. (regardless of outcome..) then I get an uneasy feeling and will start to question in future.. :?

I'm worry about to say....because with FM/DM changing there could some more possibilities, I think.

And I also believe, we are old enough to handle that... but what is if I'm wrong ?

So the decision to let FM/DM as it is...seems the right one.
