Gunner + Pilot
#1

Everyone knows (i hope so  ) that in multiplayer you can pilot a plane even if you are controlling a gunner . Right? Right....
Can anyone make a MOD of gunner piloting plane in singleplayer? I know its not real but There are 2 reasons why im asking for this:
---When i use a bomber carried of bombs and im a gunner trying to protect from fighters ,its just 1 oil leak or fuel leak caused by flak or fighter that the autopilot drop the bombs ( because of this i use level stabilizer but its not efficient )
---When im a gunner and something makes 1 of the engines burn or something else serious but controllable the autopilot go straight down when we could perfectly use the fire extinguishers ,but anyway its perfectly safe flying with an engine burning (except for 1 engine planes ) , the only problem is the fuel leak .
So my conclusion is : the autopilot is a perfect idiot for bombers and pisses me off lol Smile

Then you two are lucky lol
Thats what i want , i cant do a decent bombing if the autopilot is always dropping the bombs when i have a fuel leak

There is an option called "Autopilot automation" or so in the controls menu, which must be assigned to a key. When pressed, it does just this, it turns the automated autopilot off or on. So when switching to another position the autopilot DOESNT take over. This was always in the game.
So NO need for a mod. Just a bit of looking through the controls menu.

And the solution to the autopilot dropping your bombs when you plane is hit is to never engage it in the mission. I agree, thats annoying, but there is no other solution. The autopilot still seems to have some control over the plane when it was turned on and then off again.

I think you didnt understand very well this topic .
Everyone knows that the autopilot key exists . but when we switch to a gunner position we are obliged to use autopilot to pilot the plane . I suppose you already played multiplayer with a bomber and switching to a gunner you still can pilot the plane . Thats what i want in singleplayer.

I think you misunderstood the answer: "Autopilot " and "Autopilot Automation" are two seperate key assigns, look for them in your HOTAS setup ("Controls")

Youre right actually there are two different keys "Autopilot " and "Autopilot Automation" . But i dont understand the use of the Autopilot Automation . I just tested and the only thing that key does is to block .
Example: Im a gunner with autopilot on, just autopilot . I switch to autopilot automation ON and nothing happens ,perfectly normal BUT when i switch to another gunner i cant move the gunner ,im blocked ,needer the autopilot uses the gunner even when i switch to pilot im blocked too, i cant pilot the plane but autopilot can . When i switch autopilot automation OFF everything go back to normal
TO MUCH NORMAL . I still cant use gunner while piloting Sad

Simply turn AUTOMATION OFF, then when you move to a gunner seat press AUTOPILOT.
Also remember to toggle the AUTOPILOT off before leaving the gunner station.

AUTOPILOT AUTOMATION will simply toggle the AUTOPILOT as you move from station to station - including PILOT while you are offline (Not applicable for PILOT in multiplayer.)

With "Autopilot Automation" switched on the autopilot will take over the position you have just left.

(Your flying the aircraft, you switch to gunners seat. Autopilot takes over flying and at the same time switch's off the gunners Autopilot/AI, when you switch back it dose the reverse.)

With "Autopilot Automation" switched off the autopilot will not take over the position you have just left.

(Your flying the aircraft, you switch to gunners seat. Autopilot dose not take over flying and will not switch the gunner Autopilot/AI off.

To use the gunner you now have to switch off the gunners Autopilot/AI by pressing the your Autopilot key, once you have finished in the gunners position press the Autopilot key before switching back to the cockpit to switch on the gunners Autopilot/AI, if you don't it switch it back on its as good as havening a dead gunner back there.

Also note that if you want the Autopilot to fly the plane when using the gunners position you have to switch the Autopilot on before leaving the cockpit.)

Edit:---

You beat me to it Fisneaky Smile and cos I left it for a bit till I hit the Submit button.

I only discovered this six months ago. It was nice to finally be able to use the forward MG-FF in the He-111 for what it was designed to do (strafing)!
