Campaigns and IL2G15Score
#1

Have two questions... I've been checking these mods out..
Sound .92 AAA mod pack and TIR 6DOF

Now my group runs a DCG campaign server and Ive noticed problems at times whre I can't select axis side aircraft and my friends appear in aircraft that they are not in.
Thats my first problem.

Can this be corrected by running the sound mod on the server computer?

secondly... after installing the mods... my IL2G15Score stopped working.
It seems to update whether Im flying, in selection screen or dead.. but none of the stats. Im guessing the mod messes with how the game reports to the log file.
Any known way to fix this?

Thanks

Aircracft selection problems seem to come about from some of the new modded flyables being included in the sound mod. They show on the brefing list on a modded game but not on an unmodded briefing. This causes the plane list not to be the same for all players either in AC shown or list order or length of the list, thus your buddies may show up in places they are not actualy in or want to be.
However an Individual player may not get into any planes listed on the briefing screen if the AC are registered as AI only on the mission file itself even though they may show on the briefing list, but if it is not actualy written in the file as "AI only" then one can select them this AC as pilot or a gunner. In some missions the builders never bothered to text this in to the mission because the AC were on the non flyable list but now with the mod they show up as flyable. If you go into the mission file and find the location of the line that listed the specific AC and write in under them the text " AI only" this disables them as being selectable.

Yes, as far as I can see if the host has the patch it should help solve the problem because the generated plane list will be his and the AC will all be shown in thea consisten order. however non modded games may still not show all the AC listed and players will need to cooordinate placement to avoid two pilots from trying to get into the same AC, which in the game can cause some intresting if not amusing results.

Dont know anything about the scoring problem.

The only way around this is to add "real" flyables to the mission first, then they appear at the top of the list . Anyone without mods will not see any of the mod planes in their list. Problems can still arise when mods are included for RED and there are regular flyables for BLUE.

Non modded players can be directed to their correct seat only if there are enough slots on their list.

I've not done any DCG missions with the mods yet and not sure how it assigns AC in order per mission, but assume it could be affected by the order they are added to the template mission map.

DF mode seems unaffected for obvious reasons and players should be able to select and fly AI with externals the old way.

The DCG server assigns them Red first... in order usually that they are in the template mission... then the blue side.. in order from the template.

Looks like we'd have to put it on the server and make it required to really work well.

Most of us have the G15 keyboard and love the IL2Score program...
Nice to have the ammo counter and hit tracker.

Im guessing the patch does something to the way the game reports to the log file. DOes anyone know? As soon as you take the mod out, it works again.
we'd love to find a fix for this as its a big sticking point.

I'm guessing that if there a players with different versions ; there's a conflict in the slot assignment for the score program.

Have you tried with ALL players using the Mod?

With the IL2Score.. it just reads from the log file. It finds your name and then reads those selections. Current points, kills, ammo spent, % hit etc. The name is right, because it still shows when I am in briefing, when Im flying and when I die, it just doesn't find the numbers for the stats.
Shouldnt matter if anyone else is using mod or not. Ive tried it with JUST me flying solo in a single mission and it doesn't work.
But as soon as I take the mod out, it goes right back to working fine.

OK, so unrelated to the campaign issue then.

correct. Seems to have to do with how the game reports to the log file after the mod has been installed.

Have you opened the log file after to compare what is there after running each version?

Yeah, the log file looks the same... I'll check it again though.

I went over them again... ran another test... the log file looks pretty much the same. I can't find any real differences. I even see data (bullets fired) being updated in both. Yet... with the Mod installed, the IL2score program doesn't read the data out of the log file.

From what I can see, IL2G15score only interacts with that log file and nothing else.

I don't have Il2 score so unable to suggest anything else.

I've just discovered that "Bombsight Table" overlay freezes the screen with sound mod.

Not sure how or why these utilities are affected.
