MkVI Mosquito?
#1

Gents,

Has there been any discussion on the possibility of making a MkVI rocket bearing (25 lb AP Heads for ship busting!) Mossie? The lads at the 105th would be eternally grateful as the dog we have now just doesn't cut it for late war missions! Wink

Cheers,
Ogs.

ok there is a slight problem with that. For it to carry rockets it will either mean that you use a Tempest FM or a Seafire FM (those are the only british planes carrying rockets as far as i know). That means it will be like a tempest or seafire and not a mozzy. Secondly we do not change FMs as that is cheating so I'm sorry mate. Sad

Rgr that on the FM, I could live with a Tempest FM (would a Beaufighter work?) just for the joy of flying such missions but I understand the issues involved.

The Beau would be the way to go.

Would it.. There are quite large differences in specifications here.

a, Range.
b, Serviice ceiling.
c, Turn time.
d, And in particular, speed at high and low altitudes..

Having a Beaufighter fm may not be the way forward for the sake of the Mossies ability to carry rockets..

I think the fact that the Mosquito wasn't given rockets was quite strange considering the use they got. Same goes for things like the Hurricane IIC not having bombs etc.

its a shame that they were missed out but unfortunately you would have to assign hard points to the mossie and add rockets to the code and various other things, i think you may need to do this in a 3d studio, dont know if the guys who made the hawker typhoon ever got those rockets to work
