So here it goes:

First open the archive:


Then open the folder of the part of the mod you want to install:
(If you want to install the whole mod then you will have to do this following procedure for every folder)


See the files folder in the archive


Then open the main directory of your IL-2 and drag the files folder in there. I like to drag it right next to my existing one, so the posiition of it in the folder doesn't change around all the time.




When Windows asks you to overwrite, click yes to all.


Now open your files.txt and the text file named "lines to add to your files.txt.txt".


Copy all the text from the aforementioned text file from the archive in which the mod is contained.


Then copy it to the bottom of your files.txt.


Save it and run the game! 8)

You know, I marvel at the effort that people put in using their own time and energy to give us all a more realistic and improved game.. But it is really gripping my sh*t that every time someone provides us with these gems, ther are always people coming out of the woodwork whinging about 'you have a cheat' or 'that will give you more of an advantage..' Can we just accept the great work these modders do, and stop crying about what amounts to f^ck-all to worry about..
And before you ask, yes, I spend a large amount of time flying online.. We have a large organisation, fly in most of the current wars, we've been doing it for years, and have yet to see any kind of cheating.. why, because we fly with people we know and trust..

So its ok to go into either of the warbirds of prey servers or warclouds and use the gunsites and mirrors? All you have to do is enter any of those servers and tell them what you've got and see how long it takes them to ban you. Like I said before, I like the work being done here, I just don't like the fact that it can be used anywhere, even where it is unwelcome. When you start using these things where everyone is expecting you to be on a level playing field, thats when you cross that line and thats what myself and quite a few others have a problem with. One thing I have more of a problem with are people like you that don't care about anyone but yourself. Great attitude, no wonder the onliners are so up in arms.

This is the main issue.. in a nutshell.. Now.. I wonder.. how does this plane fly? Does it fly like a G4? Like a G-10? Like a hybrid of both? How does this work when you go to a server that has either one of those panes selected? What happens when there is a server hat doesn't want these kinds of mods in there? Are the server admins wrong for banning this? Would YOU be wrong for going in a server that didnt want it? Ahhhhck... The issue is so convoluted... and all these are why this issue is so devisive... some of the work I have seen coming out of here looks great... even this looks great... if thats your thing... Personally that default skin thingy is something that I have always wanted.. We have lots of missions where it would be great to fly over your base and see a row of parked planes that look realistic for the missions.. great for screenshots too... but some of thsi stuff.... guys as good as it is..... I dunno... I just don't know....

But be all that as it may be... it most certainly is what it is.... so... enjoy...

When we fly in, for example, AW, our Squadron will use the stock IL2 46..
But when we do our own co-ops, we fly on our sound mod version.. We have guys with some of the mods, we have guys with all of the mods, and we have members who haven't installed the mod yet.. All flying together and so far no drama's... Until you get to grips with this thing you are right.. you just won't know..

Bearcat,as i wrote it in the first post,i didn't touch FM or DM.

The G4 is simply a "visual" replacement of the stock G2.
The G10-Erla is also a simple "visual" replacement of the stock G10.

BTW IRL,the G4 was the direct successor of the G2,with the same unpressurized cockpit,same engine & armament.Only the radio stuff & undercarriage characteristics were different.

IRL again,The G10-Erla and G10 were technically identical (engine,armament...).

And as i didn't want to generate monsters of any kind,i chose "new planes" that were already very close to what we already had ingame (concerning armament,FM & DM)!

Then,if somebody saw ugly monsters or monstruous cheats in my G4/G10Erla/Goodies mod,then i would feel a bit bad,as i posted many links about real facts concerning those planes. :? :o

I just added a README file with all the necessary details to intall the mod properly.
I also shortened some filenames to avoid bug while extracting.
The two links from FileFront and RapidShare are updated.

Dont want to be an Arse to you but maybe you should stop Assuming people have changed the FM etc.

But possibly the people who make these Plane MOD's should state that the FM etc isnt changed for peoples sake.

I know what you feel if the FM is changed then you have a I-153P charging down at 1000Mph at you with full invsiablity etc but as this community voted up we wont change the FM for 4.08. And i support that. You stated it too.

Hi all

It seems that certain versions of WinRAR and WinZIP are unable to identify the "method of compression" i used when packing my mod with WinZIP. hock:
Indeed i used the "Maximum PPMd" option when packing my mod files before uploading to FileFront and RapidShare. :!:

So, hock: :x :roll:

I re-uploaded my mod with NO Compression at all.
I tried the version of WinRAR that made bug before while extracting and now it's AT LAST ok!

Nevertheless,without compression,my mod size jumps from 2MB to 7MB! :?

Download links updated with two more alternative links to get my mod and get it work mates!

personally the biggest cheat in this sim is the twist stik rudder just tell me one aircraft that has one of those :evil:

Here is my new mod:

Me109-G6 Mod and Me109-G10/G14 Late War Features


With the download link available at the end of the first post there.


This new mod provides :

Visual mods for Me109-G6 Early such as

-Erla canopy with classic tail
or
-Classic canopy with tall tail.


And also late war features for Me109-G10 & G14 such as:

-Missing antenna mast like on the K4
-Removal of the stock ground attack lines on the G14 cockpit windows.


The goodies will permitt you to fit:

-Alternative armor plate for classic canopies on Early 109s (G2,G6)
-Clean plexiglas windows for every late 109s (G6-Late onwards) including the modded G6Early with Erla canopy
-Alternative wing bulges and tail wheel types for both Me109-G10 & G14.
