[WIP] 1st Air Commando Group Campaign (B-25H) w/ Lower Burma
#16

[color=white]Good to Hear!!

It might be just about a month before this is ready for you guys, but I'm presejntly hard at work!

If any one has any requests or suggestions for either the OSS or ACG segments of the Campaign Please Feel Free to Ask, or suggest them!

The ACG part will put you in Burma just before the battle of Imphal, and have you with them until the Fall of Rangoon.

The OSS segments will be short, and before and after the ACG part. The First OSS segment is about the Invasion or Italy, the second segment that will close the campaign has yet to be written.

My buddy and I are looking through all kinds of Docs and websites looking for possible actions of the OSS in the far east, just before, and or after the surrender of Japan.

One concern I have is that the files as a whole will be difficult to send to an AAA Moderator via E-Mail. The Soundtrack itself, along with the skins could take quite a few E-Mails even after they have been zipped. Any Suggestions, or Instructions on that? A messenger program like MSN might do the trick! Let me Know. Smile

Man, that's hard to read. Big Grin  Wink

If you have a reasonable-to-good upload speed, you could run HFS (Http File Server). It allows you to make a folder available online. When you give the URL, login and password to the person(s) it is meant for, you should be safe as houses.

Excellent, excellent, what a story.

Big Grin

I enjoyed just reading it.

Do you see these new maps that people makes here? Any ideas?
Some imaginative campaign like that should do wonders to them imagine: map is out altogether with such a good campaign.

Ha, sorry about that, I fixed the text!

Hey, and Thanks for the URL to the HFS System. It seems that all I have to do is Run that HFS program, then Put the ACG/OSS Campaign in one zipped folder with in the program, and It will give me a link people can use to download it. Specificly the AAA Admin such as Mr. Jolly. ( Unzipped I wouldn't doubt it [with the skins, music, and details] if the campaign was like 30-50 Megs.

Here are some Photos of the Nungshigum Hill Mission. Nungshigum was a hill on the Imphal plain that over looked downtown Imphal, and the Allied Airbase, and Heart of India/Burma Actions at the time, Imphal Main.

Here you see a flight of ACG P-51A's take to the sky while Underfire from IJA Artillery on Nungshigum.

Now we get to see the Monster In action, the Famed B-25H and its Murderous 75mm Cannons. Notice the effect of the cannon shell as it hits the ground in our second picture. Also note the ammount of damage these B-25's could give to ground targets in the following pictures.

The real ACG was full of Fighter pilots, however they loved the B-25H, which never had a Norden Bombsight, and was never ment for level bombing, only heavy duty straffing jobs, much like a fighter would.

My Buddy suggested I share this...

50% B-25H
20% P-51A (Really the B, the A had a air intake like the P-40B on top of the nose.)
10% A-20G
5% C-47
5% PBN-1
5% L-5 (Really the fi-156 Storch)
5% Beaufighter

You will spend most of your time with the ACG switching between strickly Fighter missions in the P-51A, and then your Ground Missions in your B-25H.

The Rest of the A/C you will fly are special occasions and steeped in the storyline!

I actually found these links today and pictures of peoples Maps. Some of them Knocked me on my Rear, as I posted in their topics.

It seems as if it might be too complicated for me, but I dunno. The worst part is I can't afford PSP or anything like that right now, However....

I have a Dream of a Southern Burma Map with Rangoon and Akyab!

This is a Great Movie about an Hour along and is about the war in Burma. It was shot in the 70's or eighties it seems, so there were alot of veterens that were interviewed.

At about Minute 42 there are some Amazing Aireal Gun Camera shots, I have no Idead how they took them. Its like in external, follow mode, and close....

Anyway Enjoy this, It will give you a complete understanding of the Campaign I'm working on.

Ok I've learned about sites like Filefront, where I can put this campaign up for download, then simply Link it to the first Post in this topic.

Do the Admis of AAA need to aprove this before I do so?

Still going to be a little time on this, not long though Smile

Hi there, well the campaign has settle dinto its last leg, and there are three missions around Rangoon that have yet to be built, and maybe a movie or two to shoot, however thats all!

When the campaign come available ( Very Probably this weekend) it will include,
- A Skin Pack,
- An ACG USAAF background,
- Menu, take-off, and inflight sounds and music,
- And a 33 missions, storyline driven campaign.

Several people need to be thanked for providing skins, and templates for the campaign.

These folks will get the much needed Credit they deserve when the campaign is released.

P.S. Is this the First Modded Full Campaign to be submitted to AAA???

Are the 75mm Re-load times Unrealistic?
Thanks for the info on the upload/download site!

Those Last three missions I completed last night, now All I have to do is shoot a few movies,

Movie 1: "With the OSS in Italy"

Movie 2: "An OSS agent with the ACG"

Movie 3: "Monsoon Season"

Movie 4: "Hunting General Honda"

I will provide some screen shots of these missions. There are some interesting tid-bits, such as when the allies were moving into Rangoon, the POW's there layed out a message for the Aircraft to see, which read "Japs Gone, Extract Digit!" which basicly ment hurry the hell up, the city is empty!

There are a few Historical Fictional Missions around rangoon (which are marked as such) just to spice up the action. One for example the pilots will go up and Shoot down General Honda's transport plane, much like Yamamoto's was. THIS NEVER HAPPENED IRL, However, the OSS was trying to intercept and take out several Japanese high level leaders when the Philipines, and Burma were falling, in light of the invasion of Japan that everyone thought was coming.

Nevile Shute used that episode about "extract digit...japs gone" in his novel "The Chequer Board"...where one of the characters was a downed pilot in Rangoon jail.....

Looking forward to this campaign

Fabian I have a question for you, In the text I've been reading, which has been gathered online it seems to hint that the POWs used Bedsheets to spell out Extract Digit, however I've got another piece of text that seems to suggest that they layed down to spell it.... Have you got any clue as the the truth behind that.

I've got extract Digit spelt out with the small white flags near mingaladon, however... I could easily use the Sitting people to spell it out if the POWs had layed themselves out.

Thanks for the help and comments!

Edit: "As the surviving crew flew over the jail and dropped their supplies they saw displayed on the roof the PoW

I forgot to take pictures last night! Oh well I have a few on my PC here.

In this mission you fly an ACG C-47 and drop Paratroopers at the southern mouth of the Gangaw Valley.

The Map I'm posting is what I'm using for Central Burma.
