Menu wallpaper how can i use a custom picture on the Main menu of IL2?

you mean main menu or loading splash screen ?

you'll need custom tga file ( your desired pic) 1024x1024 24bit ( mat file you can "borrow" from stock ones)

for main menu :

game root\\Missions ..... ( background.mat & background.tga)


for loading splash :

new wrapper: make new folder in your game root\MODS\ "name of your mod" \ gui\ ..... ( background0.mat & background0.tga)

since it loads files from MODS alphabetically watch that you don't have similar mod listed first
( choose name so that your folder get on top )

for filelist version:

game root\files\gui\...(background0.mat & background0.tga)

make entry for those two files in filelist.txt

Can you explain how to set up the splash screen again.

I recently installed the AAA Mod-Pack over an existing Sound Mod 0.93 installation with the new wrapper.

Prior to installing the Mod-Pack I had the Russian language startup splash screen - Quite liked that one.

Now all I get is a white screen then the game interface loads up and everything is normal.

The mods background.tga is in root/MODS/basic/gui

I think I may have bungled the installation, although everything else seems to work ok.

well, i dont have AAA mod pack installed but if you like to revert to default splash screen :

gameroot\mods\ basic-or whatever you named it \ gui\

there should be two files :

background0.tga and background0.mat

just delete them and game will load default ( also check in old files folder for those files and delete if there) files\gui\
