Converting the Corsair MKI into a F4U?
#1

I believe is possible to change the default skin for a plane, but can we convert the Corsair MK.1 into an american plane? We need to change the skin but also the markings.
Any idea?

the corsair Mk.1 is the corsair birdcage (earlier 43) so it must be named F4u1

F4u1a series introduces the new canopy (late 43)

RD, have you changed any default skins before? It is actually very easy to do. The Corsair Mk.I will have a (GB) folder and a (Multi1) folder. Just insert a USN skin in the Multi1 and you will have it as a default when you select USA.

Yep, not too hard to make the default Corsair I look like a F4U-1. I don't know why it was put in Pacific Fighters as the Corsair I. The British used their Corsair I's for training only, it was the Corsair II, III and IV that saw combat. The U.S. Marines used the F4U-1 extensively in the Solomon Islands from February 1943 to March 1944. After March 44, the F4U-1 was relegated to rear area duties and training.

Even with the new default skin installed, I still have to turn off "markings" in order for that funky star from showing up. Is there a way to make the game finally realize that the F4U-1 was primarily an American plane, and not British?????
