Is there any way to make the little puff-balls of smoke from damaged ships appear as continuous (but perhaps light) plumes of smoke, or remove them completely?

its there......maskingnetmods.rar

this is for those who have already installed my All-in-one "ffb_mods"

go to your MODS folder...open folder "craters/3do/Buildings....add the new Furniture folder...to be in there beside the Airdrome folder

then open the Airdrome folder....and copy the two new tga files into both Maskingnet_4m and Maskingnet_6m folders...replacing the old ones when asked

Now go to your Static_ini folder in the MODS folder....open the static.ini file with Windows Notepad.....

and add these lines at the bottom.....

[buildings.House$FurnitureSandbag_Wall2]
Title Sandbag_Wall2
MeshLive 3do/Buildings/Furniture/Sandbag_Wall2/live.sim
MeshDead
AddHeightLive 0.6
AlignToLand 0
Body RockMiddle
Panzer 0.60

[buildings.House$FurnitureSandbags_Round2]
Title Sandbags_Round2
MeshLive 3do/Buildings/Furniture/Sandbags_Round2/live.sim
MeshDead
AddHeightLive 0.6
AlignToLand 0
Body RockMiddle
Panzer 0.60

when you open the FMB and look in the Objects menu....all these new modded Objects will be at the end of the list

HELP FRED!!! I installed your ffb_mods the other day, and it works like a charm. I do seem to have a problem with the maskingnet mod. I d/l'd this yesterday, followed your instructions above to the letter, but the new color masking nets, and the raised sandbags, do not appear in the FMB list. Any ideas?
The only other thing I tried differently from above instructions, was where you say: go to Static_ini folder in MODS folder...open static.ini file...
the path for my static.ini file is MODS/static_ini/com/maddox/il2/objects......at first I just added the lines into the static.ini file here, and that didn't work.
I then copied that static.ini file straight into MODS/static_ini folder, to see if that would work, but no go.
So, basically, somewhere along the line, something's gone wrong. All the objects from the initial ffb_mods are fine, but the new tga's for masking nets don't seem to be working properly, as well as the raised sandbags....
If i haven't explained something properly, feel free to ask for clarification, but I find this a bit weird....I'm really keen on the new 'colored' masking nets, but they just don't seem to appear.

well.....I don't know how to put it any easier......

the MODS/static_ini/com/maddox/il2/objects/.....then the static.ini file is in there

when you open the FMB....open the Objects list...not stationary objects...and the new stuff should be at the end of the list...see the photo of the sandbags where it is object 754....should be similar if not exactly there...the new nets will be before those because I made them earlier....but only just changed the tga's

did you disable any older versions of my mods...the craters/destroy/destruction/A_trees&things/etc. as they may have a static.ini file which is being read alphabetically in the MODS folder before the new one...so taking precedence

hmmmm....ok, I have it exactly as you have, but they still don't appear in the FMB list:
Here's the last object in my FMB list, prior to AND after the last mod:

[Image: IL2M_W080217_120249_C08021712024946.jpg]

and the masking net before and after the new tga's:

.....i'm at a loss here...pretty sure my setup is spoton. Are there any other rules to adding the new entries in the static.ini file? just a straight copy/paste, added onto the end of the file? that's what i did... :?:

Malone........

check that in your mods folderthere are not anyother versions of static.ini....before that new folder...
if you had my older version installed you may have adestroy folder with it which will come before your new static_ini folder

try deleting the new static_ini folder...and reinstalling from the fffb_mods.rar...and reinstall the tga files to their place.......in the new craters folder

ok, I found the offending party. Sure enough, I had another folder with a static.ini file which was obviously loading before your one. I removed it - problem solved. All new objects/tga's present and correct, thanks for the help, fred!

I really prefer the lighter runway textures you did- I'm using them now. How could I go about installing your comprehensive mod and still keep my runways?

just install my MOD...each thing has its own folder in MODS...so just don't put the new Airfieldplate folder in the...leave the old one

fabianfred Wrote:Those concrete plate files I put there for those who are using the map-makers FMB.....if they want to make my darker coloured plates as a seperate new one...all they need to do is re-name their concrete folder to ...concrete2...and then the default ones will be the original colour

the only trouble is that if they mix the original and new ones in a map...they need to include all that stuff in the map pack

you can safely ignore it if you are happy with either of the two new coloured plates for ALL your maps

Hello Fabianfred,

Thanks for your answer. However I am not sure I understand it.

I thought I would have darker concrete plates as new objects in FMB if I add your files as Concrete2 instead of Concrete (folder name containing your files). So I tried the following: I use your lighter concrete plates as Concrete, and I added a second folder named Concrete2 with the darker ones, just to see if I could have both in FMB. But I do not see these objects. Does it make any sense? Maybe I should have just one folder named Concrete, in order to change the colors of concrete plates (that works fine, thank you) and that's all?

Also I found something strange in FMB, at the end of the objects drop-down menu, I have 2 objects with actually nothing showing up. The sandbags do show up properly though. Anything wrong here? I do not remember exactly their numbers, I believe they come just before the sand bags.

In the static.ini, I found some objects which I do not have located in your pack, such as Suribachi_2 and Crimea rocks 2 & 3. What are these?

Thanks in advance to enlighten/educate me on the way it should work between your files and static.ini.

at the end of your static.ini there are these entries...

[buildings.Mountain$Suribachi_2]
Title Suribachi_2
Mesh 3do/Buildings/Mountain/Suribachi_2/live.sim

/[buildings.House$CrimeaRock2]
/Title CrimeaRock2
/MeshLive 3do/Buildings/Crimea/Rock2/rock2.sim
/MeshDead 3do/Buildings/Crimea/Rock2/rock2.sim
/AlignToLand 1
/Body RockBig
/Panzer 9.96

/[buildings.House$CrimeaRock3]
/Title CrimeaRock3
/MeshLive 3do/Buildings/Crimea/Rock3/rock3.sim
/MeshDead 3do/Buildings/Crimea/Rock3/rock3.sim
/AlignToLand 1
/Body RockBig
/Panzer 9.96

....just delete them..and you wont get any blank items in your Objects list...

having the darker concrete plates as an extra item is only of use to those with the map makers FMB.........otherwise we just have to choose...do we want all the default colour or the new colour
