I'm happy about adjusting sound values in the preset files for engine/weapons etc.. but I can't for the life of me find an spl setting for the flaps etc.. Anyone know which file controls the sound levels for external/internal gear and flaps? I still can't hear any internal gear and flap sound for the Mc200 series..
Thanks Hux, I already have your sounds downloaded.. I know the file you are talking about, but how do I adjust the values, and what is allied, and what is axis.. it doesn't have an spl setting like the other preset files..
Ok quick edit.. I see that in the readme what you mean about gain0 and gain1, but there are numerous flap entries.. ie, Mflaps, Eflaps, Pflaps, which governs allied/axis, etc?..
Mechanical, Electric, Pneumatic? - just a guess.
Makes no difference what I set them to when flying the Macchi 200 series..
I even turned the engine off in flight, then operated flaps and gear and heard absolutely nothing.. If I do that with any other axis plane, the gear and flaps are heard clearly.
If I operate them in external view I can hear them wether the engine is on or off..
I wonder if they have even been assigned for internal?
Bump + "me too" post.
Same problem: no flaps or landing gear sounds in the Macchi 200, no such problem in other Axis planes.
I found this problem on some planes with open pit too, i-16 flaps for example...
I studied that (sorry for my english speaking) :
Naturally, when cockpit is open, or with a plane without canopy, the sound of engine, flap and gear is lowered, it's hardcoded in game (a java instruction)
On some plane, we can stille ear a far far sound, but for the other, the sound disappear.
I don't know where change it, i have some guess, but now it's not important thing for me...
It can't be something that just affects the open cockpit planes.. Fly the G50. Its a similar set up to the Macchi 200..
I can still hear all the flap and gear sounds on internal and external?? I'm lost now :?
Turns out the flaps sound is played, it's only too low to be heard. I tried to lower the flaps with the engine off and I could actually hear the sound, very low. I didn't try to lower the gear with engine off, I'll do that later.
The problem now is, how do we make the Macchi's flaps louder without making all the other Axis plane's flaps too loud? (same for the landing gear if it can be heard with engine off)
The open cockpit theory makes sense (open cockpit = more noise = you don't hear flaps, gear) but on the other hand, the Fiat G.50 also has open cockpit and you can hear both flaps and gear.
