will that WinlauncherXP work for wista?

Im not sure about that killer, still I'm using it also on the vista program , concerning the game Crysis, and like silverdog says , it seems more smooth going', also in Crysis , btw there is no real danger to try it cose its only activated by double clicking on the program/game you previously added to winlauncher and so far I'm not having incompatibility problems with Vista, and afther reboot its non active, sure its recommended not choosing core 1 ,so in my setting in XP concerning IL2-1946 game I use core 3 for joystick and selected game on core 4, in Vista I choose core 4 for Crysis. and every game in the future. and like I said its more smooth going...

OH!! warning!! just played Crysis on vista with winlauncher set on core 4, thats a NO GO !! it seems Crysis is using 2 cores, so I've set it on core 3 and 4, sorry thought i had chosen only core 4

I'm not sure, I think IL2 doesn't use multiple cores properly, or the processafinitymask setting does something else besides tell the game what core to use or not use. I just know it works.

V-sync off?

Yuck!

I play with it on... with triple buffering on, naturally. It doesn't adversely impact on framerates on my machine (Pentium D 3GHz, 9750GT).

I think you mean 7950GT. And yes, on some systems vsync does not impact performance. But on almost all ATI systems it does, and even a few nvidia setups. It's not usually just the framerate that suffers (because it has to be a divisor of the vertical refresh rate, usually 60hz on LCD screens) but also nasty laggy stutters similar to the ones you see online from time to time. These are almost always cured by turning off vsync. I can finally run vsync on with my new system, x2-4600+, 4gb DDR800, 2x9600GT SLI.

No problems with these cards and vsync in il2, they're FANTASTIC il2 cards in fact. Absolutely beautiful visuals especially with 16xSLI AA.
