X-4 missile flames?
#16

The fact that I said its not realistic is beacsue in the mod it probably happens on EVERY startup, which is NOT how it happens. Am I right?

Pay attention. I already know nobody makes unrealistic mods here. So why would I bother to say the entire mod is unreal? Just the fact of the timing.

Perhaps it is you who needs to pay attention...

The mod in question, slipry's mod, makes the flame on start up variable. Sometimes its there - others its not. Usually on cold starts - as it is on these larger horse-powered piston engines. And even then, the flame size varies. The coding was apparently already in game, in the smoke on start up. Slipry, mearly added flame. This also has a benificial side effect with burning aircraft - in which their flames are longer and in greater mass.

Thank You Magpie. Smile Thats the question that people refused to answer me that i posted earlier. All I needed to know. Thank you. I do apoligize if I sounded rude.

English is not my first language and I didn't intend to "insult" a mod. Maybe Now I'll try it Smile

And we're kind of veering off topic here. Does anyone think X-4 flames are possible? Is it already in the slirpy's mod?

Answers and opinions would always be a pleasure. Big Grin

No problem AD. Always pleased to be of assistance. BTW, I forgot to add that I personally very much recommend that mod too Wink

As for the X-4's - I' dont believe it does... The problem with the X-4, never being actually deployed, I can't find any references as to if it actually ejected a flame in flight...?

Sorry I cant be of further help with this..

Except Wikipedia:

Wikipedia, the wise, the great, the all knowing... Wrote:" Flares attached to two of the mid-section wings were used to keep the missile visible through the smoke of its engine."

Seems to indicate that perhaps it did infact fly without a visible flame...

All missiles produce smoke through their rocket engine, but every rocket engine has a flame, no? the lights were just to see and aim it from a distance. You wouldn't be able to see the little flame for very far though.

So what does this mean exactly?

No... Not all rockets, or missiles produce a flame - or rather a visible flame, as not all produce smoke. However...

After writing my above message, I was now intreged as to what the bugger looked like in flight. It does appear that the X-4 had a visible flame.

Here are some pictures of it inflight from a test bed, Ju-88;

Ok Trooper. Lets get something straight. Are you here to argue? Becasue I'm not! You never answered my original question that I posted which started this, Magpie did.

So don't make this into a debate forum! Respect the people who made the forum and use it right. So make sure that your next post is not for the sake of argument. I've gotten over, now its your turn.

And btw, if you even read you'll notice that I actually apoligized as well. And you haven't helped me one bit with the X-4 so far, just arguing over another mod! Please stop and let it go if you want to be the better person.
