I am starting to use the Gimp in preference to photoshop...and downloaded the complete manual into Acrobat Professional

GIMP is great for making skins, been using it for a couple of years now. I don't think GIMP worked out too well for map making.

It is better for some things than photoshop....because when changing RGB to greyscale in PS it alters some of the values.....

The help files are useful to download and call up from within Gimp...but the full manual is only available on-line ....so I made it a pdf file to keep on your computer

Gimp has improved in ease of use a huge amount since I first looked at it a couple of years ago......

A bit like Linux.... getting to be a real contender
