ok so I'll be first to admit that I know nothing of sfs or anything.. but I was able to replace some wav files in the il2 1946 "samples" folders. and I got new sounds. I have played with a couple sets of sounds, and these are what I found are most accurate. I love the sound is give me. and I had to share. I made a video so you can check it out.
here is how I installed them.
1. open il2 1946 folder, find "samples" folder. find (MG_Browning50.wav & MG_Browning50x.wav.
2. copy and back up those files, in case you wish to change back to them.
3. once originals are backed up.. replace with new files I made. and enjoy.
NOTE. I also replaced my those two same files in the sound mod files. which are located
(il2 1946/files/samples/) dont know if I need to, but I replace them both.

And yet another 50CAL taken from bf2. and I fixed some levels and bass. sounds awesome with a subwoofer. --currently using these--
