wow, the luftwaffe one looks great....

This huge flood of custom content reminds me of all the mods and community efforts done by the EAW community years ago...

I remember they used to have a page with nothing but custom ground objects... *SMILE sigh*

Keep-er going C.uk!!! 8)

Canon,

just to clarify things, this will be a mod for the community when you're done, right?

Pretty please? Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Of course - they're going to be in my English Channel map as objects, so you'll need to have them on your system. That means you'll be able to use them in FMB etc

At the moment I'm trying to skin a few more Luftwaffe hangars/shelters - they were pretty distinctive.

Oh, here's a question.

If I don't have the 'dead' textures for an object in my object folder, how I do know what the file is supposed to be called in order to replace it with my own texture?

The download of the extracted building textures is great except there are a few that only have the live mesh, the live textures and the live .mat files.

Any ideas?

look for the "damage.mat" files

They may be called "DamgeHi" "DamageMid" "DamageLo" , or may be named after the skin,

eg. "Damage1o", "Damage1p", "Damage1q", it depends on the release date but take clues from what you have in the folder, or from the name convention used in related objects.

Quote:[ClassInfo]
ClassName TMaterial
BasedOn base.mat
[Layer0]
TextureName d3.tga

Add the skin name (d3.tga in this case) to the "filelist" in SFS extractor (NOT il2)
If you don't have the .mat files add them too .
If you're making a clone you'll need "dead.sim" and "dead.msh" too.

It can be done from "scratch" - http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/...php?t=4224

(maybe I got lucky)

Some items only have a live texture, because thay are indestructible, such as thecastles and forts and crimea rock.....
the trees used to have a blank space for their dead version....so they simply disappeared when destroyed...that's why I made damaged ones and replaced them

the great thing with these new objects is that they do not have to replace the original items, since they are so easy to clone

Cannon they will be clone right? They wont replace current objects?
If not, could soemone give a big hand to thi sladd and make hoim some clones. becouse it would be a pitty to loose soem of teh objects being re-skinned.

Then aggain I migth be mistaken and had miseed soemthing somewhere.

By the way Lovelly new objects there mate. 8)

Of course they're clones, baco Big Grin

I only asked about the damage textures because some of the objects I've copied don't have damage files, so my cloned reskin uses the original damage texture. Anyway, I'll give your suggestions a try tonight Fisneaky
