Was wondering if aircraft operating from land bases could be modified to behave like planes operating from carriers? Have open canopys on the ground and after T/O, as gear retracts, canopy closes? On approach to runway, as gear extends, canopy opens. Same as carrier operations. As other aircraft are modified to get sliding canopys, this might be incorprated into them as well. Just a thought.
