[Download] Spitfire Mk.Ia 610 Squadron, 1940.
#31

I've changed the wording slightly, saying it has Mk.Ia gun ports (I didn't mention it, but, it has roughly Mk.Ia paneling too), and re-uploaded it. I would upload it here, if there were a simpler way than to just send it to a person from this website. I'm happy that it does get put up on this website, when the person who puts them on the server/FTP or whatever does so, as happened with my last set. In future, I'll send it to the necessary person, to save all this messing about.
I'm sorry to hear about that, Magpie, its a shame, when you produce such good skins.

DL'd your new skins before leaving for work, they are Great, Thanks!
Too bad M4T decided to be a bunch of " Hosers " about it. IAC, hope
you will do more Spit1 skins.

I'll bet the M4T team made sure they got a copy for themselves before deleting it too.

saunders1953, I got them before they took them down, thanks.

I wonder how long it will take them to remove the second one?

rigamortiz, thanks for the skins.

I don't think they are going to take it down, as I haven't mentioned AAA. Despite my screenshots clearly showing the AAA Mk.I. I'm not all that bothered though.

Any chance of releasing your template? Please?

Urmm, I've only used and edited Jesters' slightly. All I've really done, is reverse the camouflage pattern on a different layer, so I have both A and B camo patterns, put a load of letters on, and changed the colours, aswell as editing the roundels slightly. If I were to release it, I'd have to ask Jesters', and I'd want to make it so that one can choose from any set of BoB Spitfire squadron codes, and any letter for the individual aircraft, but, then you have the problem of aircraft serials (I was lucky, in that 610 squadron at the time I have made my skins for, did not have serials on the side).

Aren't you planning to make some nice skins of other squadrons as well? it would be nice...

I am planning to, its just finding the time is increasingly difficult, as my A Level exams are like 6 weeks away. I'll see if I can get a QV- set released this weekend, and at least make a start on some 602 (?) Sqn. ones.

Glad to hear that! Can I add 222 (ZD), and 92 (QJ) squadron to the wishlist please?
Good luck with your exams, mate!

Sure. I have 4 old 92 Squadron ones I made ages ago, on my HD, but they could do with updating, so I'll just remake them (Oh, and I lost the .psd's for them  ) They will take a while though, cos its mainly trial and error with all the warping, and I won't have much free time at all soon.

I have trying to create a set of 74 Sqn skins using the Sailor Malan skin. I adapted the skin so it just shows the ZP codes but when I put on the ident code it appears in game squashed/distorted and does not follow the curvature of the fuselage.

Can anyone explain how to solve this problem? I use Photoshop Elements.

All in the mapping mate.
The Spit V (hence the MkI) and IX are notorious for the rear fuselage mapping and warping, which is why lots of skinners stay clear of them.
You need to 'stretch' the rear of the aft lettering up and down until it appears straight in-game (takes a lot of guess work), also any serial lettering needs to be done in two parts to allow for the change in direction of the mapping.
Also, if your code lettering extends over the wing root you enter a differant area, needing lettering to be stretched, tilted and skewed to fit.

Enjoy
