Online Connect w/Others

Sorry if this has been answered before, I can't seem to find it.

If I and another play online, besides the basic Sound Mod, does the other person need the EXACT same mods? Obviously both parties would need the same map mods, but what about say aircraft or objects?
For instance, say I have all mods but the person connecting to me (via direct IP) only has the sound mod and same map mods. I have made a mission for HS 129 ground attack defended by (unmodded) Spitfires. Could the other person hook up and play by flying the Spits?

If there is an answer to this already, just point me to that thread.

The modded and unmodded games can coexist in online play. Players with unmodded game can see, select, and fly, any of the flyable aircraft that are in the mission. They will not see the new flyables at the aircraft selection screen unless they have the mods.

We have noticed some bug, however, with online coops, at the aircraft selection screen, other players may appear to have selected an aircraft or seat that they have not actually selected.

If the unmodded aircraft are placed in the mission first they will appear at the top of the list .

This means that if you have modded AC for axis then there should not be any allied modded, or you will get conflicts with player seats.

Best to get everyone with the same mods

Ah, yes, now it is making more sense to me. The problem I saw at the aircraft selection screen, where other pilots appeared to be occupying certain seats, when in reality, they had selected something else. I think in our case, the mission was so large, with so many aircraft relative to the number of players, that a conflict did not arise. But I see now, with fewer aircraft to choose from, somebody might appear to be blocked out of taking a seat.
