It is possible to create new vehicle objects representing guns towed by trucks. This is a work by FC to which I contributed a bit by aligning different parts of the gun relative to the truck. Here's a screenshot.




Now here's the question. We would like to come with a mod containing several such truck-gun combos. Please debate which such combos would be more needed.

A second question. In the screen below you see the same combo from above. As it is the carriage is in wrong "unfolded position", it should be in towed folded position. This might be possible to address but it will require more work (sort of a frankengun lol). Question: do you think it worth trying to mend it? (it will be hardly noticeable in flight I think)

as for unfolded guns goes .... i can live with that just fine ( approaching with 300+ kph that is the last thing i'll be looking .... )

Duce and a half (Diamond T) towing a 155, or 105. It would also be very cool if you could get the out riggers of the 88 folded up for towing. :wink:

Currently the 88 mm Flak gun in game has no wheels, I am afraid. Wheels could be detached from the gun when placing it into position for long time.

There are some nice wheeled guns like the Bofors 40mm

Theoretically possible but there is no simple plane models so you would have to use plenty of parts to make plane and vehicle.

Personally I'd like to concentrate on towed guns (field guns, AA or AT) at the moment. The 88mm may be possible using "spare weels" from other guns, and removing the legs but I'm not sure. The bofor is a good suggestion. Also what trucks/vehicles would be preferable, or in other words what vehicles that we have in game were commonly used for towing guns?

I would prefer them to be in correct towing configuration. In your plane you may not notice, but film makers and screenshot artists would sure appreciate it to be looking right. Now you are at it, so go all the way instead of just 90%.

Towed planes should be possible with the help of the static aircraft models.

It's at this point that I wish we could add new vehicles/objects, so that we could get the good old Bedford truck towing a 25lb Field gun, etc.
In the meantime, as soon as I finish work I'll compile a list for the Allies... :wink:
