Carnage,

Sorry not to get back to you on this sooner. I was kind of burned out from working on these sights. I hope that you were able to figure out what needed to be done. (if you did I would be interested to know)

I do seem to remember on a previous version of my sights that someone reinstalled the Acemaker for P47 mod and then ran the uninstall program for it.

In any case I think that it would be a good idea to uninstall the acemaker mod as my mod should have all of the features that were in the early acemaker mod, and more.

Thanks for testing this mod.

Sorry, but I have a problem with your MOD.

In QMB, no problem.
In FMB, when I choose a P-47 (D-22 for example) and I click on plane thin to tick Player box, IL2 crashes.

I am alone in this instance ?

LAL_RONE I will take a look at this tonight. This may be another filelist issue. I must confess that some time ago I removed filelist from my folder (not recommended by AAA management). But I will reconstitute it on my computer so that I can reproduce the problems that have been encountered and debug them.

When you encountered this problem in FMB was the player nationality US or was it something else?
Also which map were you using at the time.

I don't use any filelist.txt, and i also have a problem with FMB, though not exactly the same as RONE, let me explain:

With the mod, if i select "view object", then "play mission" in the FMB, after i've played the mission and am back in the FMB, if i select again "view object", the GUI goes FUBAR.

Without the mod i don't have this problem, and i did not have it with previous version of mod.

After the problem occured, i checked my log.lst and found some P-47 related text, here it is:

WARNING: object '3DO/Plane/P-47D-10(Multi1)/CF_D0.msh' of class 'SkinTL' not loaded
[17:20:26] INTERNAL ERROR: MeshObj: Can't load mesh 3DO/Plane/P-47D-10(Multi1)/CF_D0.msh
[17:20:26] WARNING: object '3DO/Plane/P-47D-10(Multi1)/hier.him' of class 'HIM' not loaded
[17:20:26] INTERNAL ERROR: HierMeshObj: Can't load HIM 3DO/Plane/P-47D-10(Multi1)/hier.him
[17:20:26] java.lang.RuntimeException: INTERNAL ERROR: HierMeshObj: Can't load HIM 3DO/Plane/P-47D-10(Multi1)/hier.him

Hope that helps Big Grin

Addendum: i renamed folder C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\409cockpitmods\3do\Plane to C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\409cockpitmods\3do\-Plane , so it doesn't load, while the other part of mod loads, and i then have no more problem with FMB.

Thanks for the troubleshoot rollinloop. I know what the problem is now.

I had edited the CF_D0 mesh to remove the stock external sighting post. I apparently mucked something up. By deactivating the planes folder within the mod, as you have done, the only side effect should be that the original sighting post will return.

As a sidebar, when I was developing the mod I did have a similar problem in QMB, in that case it only occured when I flew the non-US (multinational P47).

I will revisit this and see where I tripped up.

Thanks,

Poncho

Quote:I bet if you were to go into the P47 gunsight mod and deactivate the planes folder(prefix with -) , it should correct the problem for now.

I did (see addendum above) and it works here.

Now i have another question: i like the tainted reticles that have been around for a few months, the ones included in your latest mod are less bright, more orange .

I have tried copying older reticles tga but no success, any idea what i should do to get the bright reticles back ? Big Grin

AHH you responded before I was able to edit my post thus exposing me as a careless reader.

Regarding the reflector tinting, the tinting is a matter of taste, so I'm never quite sure where to go with that. You should be able to change the tinting on the reflector by editing the color scale in the appropriate mat file. I will post the values from the earlier version later for those who are interested.

I noticed in the screenshots that I posted here, I have mixed in some versions with the earlier tinting. The P47-D10 shot is the new tint and the D27 shots are the tint from the earlier version.

Since it appears that I will need to update this mod once again, I may change it back again. You know what they say about the sqeaky wheel getting the grease. Smile

I think I have the FMB problem solved. But it will take a minor edit of some mesh. In the mean time rollinloop's solution of deactivating the planes folder within the mod should allow you to use FMB.

For anyone interested in changing the tinting of the reflector sights, the files that you would edit
for the P47_D10 : Zgunglass_I.mat and Zgunglass_II.mat

for the P47-D22 and P47-D27: perspex.mat

for the D-late: rfl14.mat

in these mat files look for the line ColorScale.

This current version of the Gunsight mod will read: ColorScale 0.5 1.0 0.8 0.3

To return to the tinting used in previous versions change to ColorScale 1.0 0.9 0.1 0.4

Thanks for the input,

Poncho
