HUD altimeter limitations
#1

I suspect this has been covered before but is there any way to get the HUD altimeter needles to display altitudes over 10,000 feet? Above that height the digital continues to readout but the needles stay stuck at 0. I'm using the feet/mph mod and with my own custom gauge faces. I like the display but up high it's hard to judge vertical speed by just the digital readings.

I suspect this may only be the case in a few aircraft, as I could swear I remember seeing a couple with a big and a little hand that keep going round and round.

Nah, happens in whatever plane I choose.

Actually the altimeter gage stops working for almost all aircraft at 30,000 feet which its metric equivalent is approximately 10,000 meters.

The only aircraft that I know of that the needles will continue to move above these altitudes are the P-38J & L and the P-51 all versions.

Altimeter gages on planes such as the F4U, F6F & P-47D, F4F, P-40, P-39 etc. do not continue to work past 30,000 feet (locks at 30,000) although the speed bar will continue to indicate if it has been enabled by the host.
