Request narrowing down the FW190A frontal air intake
#1

Hi!

As I am an 190 enthusiast and seeing all the great new airplanes developed, I wonder if it is possible to do some cosmetig surgery to the 190A' s cowling in order to get rid of the ugly frontal aspect the original 3d model has.

Can you be more specific? The search function does not yield any appropriate finds.

The front aperture is slightly too large in diameter, it's true - that would need some mesh correction of the 3D model.

What always leaps out at me is that the geared fan is mounted too far back inside the cowling on Oleg's 190. It should be just behind the spinner backplate, not 12 inches behind it. Moving it forward might be simple for a hier.him guru like Ranwers....

Edit - if this has already been done, I too would like to know where the mod is.

Hier.him works ONLY with complete meshes.

Indeed, standard frankenplane technique is not sufficient to achieve desired effect, would require actually editing the mesh, which would require export/import.

One day.

dude, do you perhaps have the link for this mod? I sure can't find it, and it would be BAD ASS if the nose could be fixed, someone did make it on the A3 mod, but it would be superb if it could be added on the other A versions too, any news on this?

He was mistaken. I think the new A3 will soon feature an improved intake though...

A little yummi. Dont want to show too much because the experts are still working on it. The only thing I can say. This bird will much more look like a FW-190.
