mods missing after download
#1

Have downloaded and installed SFX-6, MOD Activater, Wrapper and AC Install and can find none of these in my mod copy of 1946 9m. The install path is correct, I believe: C:\ Mods\IL2-Sturmovik Forgotten Battles.
Should these mods be going in a special folder?
Am I wrong to use 9m?
Any help, anyone?
Thanks

hi and welcome ...

correct path(default) is :

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\

if you have game installed at any other destination .... just navigate installer to your main game folder

anyway , i'm moving this thread to proper location ...

Some more help, Z, if I may...I've got Sounds pack 093 located correctly, but when I click on .exe nothing happens. Should I have something else in there?
Thanks

i'm not sure what you are asking here .... which exe? If you referring to install file (sound mod) probably you don't have winrar installed :

http://www.win-rar.com

I'm sorry for the confusion. I meant when I click on the IL2fb.exe within the 093 sound download folder the game will not start. The game starts okay, however when I click on the IL2fb.exe in the main game folder, but the mods have not taken effect. This is how I'm set up: C:\Windows XP\Mods\IL2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS. Within this MODS folder I have "files", "files SFS", "IL2fb.exe" and "read this".
Does this look okay?
And thanks again for your help.

...there is your problem.... you should extract sound mod in to game root folder ... in your case :

C:\Windows XP\Mods\IL2 Sturmovik 1946\

and not in to MODS folder

...so just copy all files from mods folder to main game folder (back up originals)

Thanks a million, Z. Got rid of the Mod folder and then found the files were not extracting all the way to the root directory, so I dragged the original 093 download to the root directory and extracted them there...Instant Success!

May I get a little more help, Z?

With sound 093 installed I am getting no cockpit sounds on any aircraft listed in QMB until I get down to the Hurricane. (external views sound is okay) From the Hurricane to the end of the list all sounds are fine.

Are there any patches for this? I've changed my sound sampling in set up to 44100 but that was of no help.

I'm running 1946 patched to v 9m

Any other thoughts that might help?

Many thanks.
