Weapon Hit Effects Mod + Rocket Trail v1.3 *Update 7/27*
#46

Ok everyone.

I made 2 installing options for those who do have Josse's mod. Chances are, if you don't know which mod we are talking about then you don't have it.

For the people having trouble. 2 things to try. First. Uninstall my mod (i.e delete it completely so its not on your system anymore)
Now go to the search feature on windows. Click Start on your explorer bar and click Search (its above Run) Now search for all files and folders, then type in the filename "37_Burn.eff" without the quotes. If you find this file in your mods after you delete mine, then remove that mod because it is conflicting with mine. Also check for the filenames "20_burn" and 20_smokeboiling.

Second thing to try. Rename my "Weapon_Effects" folder to "3rdeye_Weapon_Effects" It should load before all of the others.

If it works after than then you know its a mod conflict.

one quest, i can't see white smoke when cannons hits plane, get dark grey smoke, no white as you can see in 3rdeye viedeos, what could be the problem.

just that, the mod is sooooo nice.

I changed the smoke from the original beta. v1.00 has smaller 20mm flashes and darker smoke (realistic)

Unfortunately, this smoke change alot changes the ground hit smoke.

I'll make a new option for different smoke soon. Working on the mod some more today.

Glad those who got it to work, Thank you for enjoying it. Smile

i think that the issues that most will have will be with the installation procedure.
the first time i installed i had the popcorn issue, then i got your new version and all works perfectly well. maybe an auto installer will help some ?

Mine is under "Weapon_Effects" and I seem to have many more mod folders than Pantheras88 does, and mine works just fine.
This is a great mod. Thank you.
I thought everyone had a "1 Basic" folder. I don't see one in Panteras88's screenshot. Perhaps I am using a different version of the sound mod. I am using 9.3

You should not be getting the popcorn effect.... I have no idea why it won't work on yours.

Delete any version of my mod, then Please download my latest file. It should be named "3rdeye_Weapon_Effects" and try it then. download from the link on the first page, it has be updated with a new folder name.

Th!rdEye, is it possible to give me a previous (yesterday's) version of your mod? Today you changed the white smoke so that it's impossible to say now whether I have it or not now... After I see the white explosions I can be sure and after that update your mod with a new version. Thank you.

My best wishes,
Mangas.

The only difference in the mod is the newest download has darker smoke. I'm working on it today and a new download will have a choice of smoke.

When the sound mod first came out ...everything was in a 'Files' folder in the root il2 folder....and a 'filelist' told the game to look in there for items on the list..... then the new wrapper system came out which didn't need the filelist...and made a new MODS folder
Many of us thought it a good idea to copy the Files folder into the MODS folder ...and to make sure the newer mods were 'read' first changed its name to z_basic so that it came alphabetically after all other stuff in the MODS folder

Actually, there was no need to move it at all, since anything not found in the MODS folder the Wrapper then looks in the Files folder for....and then in the default sfs files
Now with new a/c etc. using and updating the Buttons file it is better for the old Files folder to be where it was..in the root il2 folder

I therefore changed back....by copying my z_basic folder to the root il2...and renaming it Files....I also put a '-' in front of the z_basic folder in MODS to disable it....and make sure everything was working OK before deleting the old z_basic from MODS
