To All Sound Modders out there...HELP!

@FSM What happens when the chewing gum dries?

@Hot Space "last chance saloon." I've had a few brews at that establishment.

@Pedropan How did you figure out Step #5 (not overwriting that file)? I didn't do that, but things work anyway. Glad you and Hot Space found joy!

Unfortunately what happens when the chewing gum dries is that i can't use the new 4.09 maps!! Don't know what the hell just happened, I could use them last week, but this week if I try to load a mission it just loads eternally. If I click the loading box and try and play the mission it just reverts back to the 2D map view of the mission. Don't think I even downloaded anything recently. Anyway, time for bed. Can't be bothered with this right now.

That's the pits, Jude. I hope you can sort it out. I had everything running good, and against my better judgment (which is par for the course when I get to screwing around with mods) I dld'd and installed the 6DOF. It proked some of the plane sounds again! So I'm off to do a fresh install of 4.07, patch to 4.08, etc., etc.

Saunds you're doing another install m8?

Try playing with the Dive Sounds Mods here as that was the only thing that would work for me in the end

Hot Space, too late! Everything was fine, in 4.09 with SM.092 no less, until I tried the 6DOF mod. I lost the sounds, it was about Midnight and I was determined not to have this to deal with today, I've done this now 4 times in the last 3 weeks, so what the hell? Besides, I wanted to start from scratch with the new wrapper install process so as to get better organized. Now, I'm patched to 4.08/SM.090 with new wrapper/Mods folder process, and about to test it. Then I'll add mods and see what happens. My computer genius son is going to do a complete system upgrade (mobo, chip, vid card, etc.) in about 2 weeks (he sounds more and more like Oleg!), so I'll need to redo everything then anyway. I'm using this opportunity to work out a "best practices" protocol. What I'm unclear about still is the best order to do these mod installs, considering the various IL2 versions and the sound mod versions.

So, tell me about the Dive Sounds solution...there's a Dive Sound .093?? I'll have to check that out. All you did was install it? I thiought I had installed the latest one.

@ Pedropan, I see you only patched to 4.08, but then put the 408b mod in. Didn't you have to patch to 4.09 first?

Cheers mates!

This is gonna sound strange m8, but because I've screwed with the Modded Version I have to 1st:

Install Dive Sound .90, then D.S .92, D.S .93 just to get sound back within the bombers  I still don't get sound from the outside view but that doesn't bother me m8 as I never really use that anyway.

All was fine until I installed the new 'wrapper' file and the 1st 'Dive Sound' Mod as far as I can figure out, but I've been away on vacation for two weeks so I had a lot of catching up to do with installing new planes or updates - all went screwy after then

Hot Space, I re-installed, patched to 4.08, then set up the wrapper install like Phillip says here:

(The link is inoperative)

And then installed SM.090 into the new MODS file, then .092, then the AAA pack, Bomber pack, Dive Sounjds, Avala's planeshine, and various other smaller ones. Joy! No sounds prob detected. I'm waiting until my upgrade to mess with 4.09 and the Mod for that.

Good luck to you, Mate!

Ok m8, I'll have a bash at this as I've noticed the P-51/Mustang MkIII seems to be dead

I had the problem of missing sounds, all US radial engine sounds missing. Im new to this modding and dont know what Im doing really but following a remark in another thread by Lewicide on this subject, I re-installed AC INSTALLER 2.2 and told it I had SFX 06 sound mod although I actually have version 093. All the engine sounds that were missing are restored now. Of course time will tell if anything else as happened as a result of me doing this.
